The Pokemon TCG is stirring things up in the Paldea region, with the Scarlet & Violet expansion Twilight Masquerade. With Terastallized Pokemon sporting elegant crystalline artwork and a whole new army of rare cards to find, the expansion is already making noise in the collector community.

More Charizard, more value in Burning Shadows.

Having something to set your sights on before you start card hunting never hurts, and the cardboard market never closes or takes a day off. With Pokemon being the king of the trading card economy, it’s time to find out just how valuable the most expensive cards from this expansion are.

Cards are ordered based on their market value, obtained from TCGPlayer.

Updated March 18, 2025, by Andrew Scariati: With Pokemon card prices rising across the board, the best Twilight Masquerade chase cards are soaring to new highs. While Twilight Masquerade’s best cards continue to get more expensive, don’t fall victim to the hype of cards that suddenly spike in price.

Sinistcha ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $20.90

Care For A Cuppa?

The Twilight Masquerade Sinistcha ex Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Sinistcha is one of the cutest Pokemon to debut in Paldea, and undoubtedly one of the Teal Mask’s greatest additions. This Special Illustration Rare didn’t receive much attention during the set’s initial release and has followed a similar downward trend to most of the other cards in Twilight Masquerade.

However, despite a significant downturn from its initial price, Sinistcha is hanging onto a high enough value to keep it afloat among the most valuable cards in Twilight Masquerade, but its place isn’t guaranteed to last.

Hisuian Growlithe (Illustration Rare) – $22.18

Looking Up

The Twilight Masquerade Most Valuable Hisuian Growlithe Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Hisuian Growlithe teams up with Perrin, the trainer who is photographing this adorable Pokemon, to form a single scene when their two cards are combined. Perrin’s card is far more valuable and will be the harder of the two to acquire, given its price and her Special Illustration Rare status.

Rainbows and pastel colors highlight some of the most expensive cards in Unbroken Bonds.

This card once sold for as little as six dollars, and since then has exploded in price, climbing to ten dollars, then $15, and now currently sits at an impressive market price above $20.

11

Buddy-Buddy Poffin (Hyper Rare) – $24.87

Golden Gluttony

The Twilight Masquerade Buddy-Buddy Poffin Hyper Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Buddy-Buddy Poffin was one of the biggest surprises among the most expensive cards in Twilight Masquerades, but this card’s viability in the TCG gives a clear reason for the solid price tag.

Competitors typically like to bling out their decks with meta-relevant Trainer cards like this one, so its value is largely linked to its playability.

While this card’s future once it goes out of rotation is uncertain, its best days are likely behind it, as it seems unlikely to expect this card to reach its previous highs above the $50 mark for quite some time.

10

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $25.06

One Mask To Rule Them All

The Ogerpon Teal Mask SIR from Twilight Masquerade in the Pokemon TCG.

Ogerpon is the undisputed star of the Teal Mask DLC in the Pokemon video games, but its reception in the Pokemon TCG has been lukewarm at best.

While this might be a case of the Pokemon’s limited exposure thanks to being locked behind DLC, it’s going to take some time – and likely an exceptionally strong, playable card – for it to appeal to a wider TCG audience.

Ogerpon follows the same downward trend that most TM cards are experiencing, but it has only dropped in value by a relatively minor amount, with the initial price set around the $40 plateau.

9

Chansey (Illustration Rare) – $26.08

A Pokemon Frenzy

The Twilight Masquerade Most Valuable Chansey Illustration Rare in the Pokemon TCG.

Chansey’s scene offers an adorable view of this a chaotic moment, as Chansey dashes across the Pokemon Center as Blissey, Bellsprout, Psyduck, and others look on. Chansey’s frenetic energy is similar to the price of this card, as it previously sat in the eight to ten dollar range before things got out of control.

However, one key thing to note about many of the Illustration Rare cards that suddenly explode in price is that their TCGplayer market price can be manipulated if many copies are purchased by an organized group.

A temporary price spike won’t last forever, though this Chansey’s gradual movement upward doesn’t seem to reflect such an occurrence; this card is here to stay.

8

Lana’s Aid (Special Illustration Rare) – $29.30

A Cute, Calming Slice Of Life

The Twilight Masquerade Lana's Aid Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Lana’s Aid is a beautiful card that tells a story, as this blue-haired trainer enjoys a peaceful afternoon by the river with her adorable Water-type Pokemon friends. The vibrant scene and gorgeous use of color make this card pop, though its value has slumped.

With the Pokemon trading card game still going strong, these are the best cards in Shining Fates.

Lana once towered above many other cards in Twilight Masquerade, but she was unable to maintain her early prices, which ranged from $50 to $80. Despite a resurgence in mid-2024, Lana’s downward trend continues, with little indication of when it may decide to rebound again.

7

Kieran (Special Illustration Rare) – $30.36

And One To Bind Them

The Twilight Masquerade Kieran SIR from the Pokemon TCG.

Kieran is a powerful and popular trainer, making several appearances in the Pokemon anime as well as the games. Being a movie star will bring that value up.

Kieran’s abilities allow you to switch your active Pokemon with one of your benched ones, or beef up your active Pokemon with a boost of an extra 30 damage to your opponent’s active Pokemon ex and V. Having that calculated before weakness and resistance can upset the momentum of an entire battle.

6

Tatsugiri (Illustration Rare) – $34.60

A Flying Fish

The Twilight Masquerade Most Valuable Tatsugiri Illustration Rare in the Pokemon TCG.

Unlike Chansey, Tatsugiri’s Illustration Rare experienced an incredibly unusual spike, as this card ran from the $15 base it had established, more than doubling in a short period of time. However, the card’s art is stunning, so it’s arguable that this Tatsugiri was due to rise.

Whether you believe this card’s meteoric rise is due to manipulation or the market finally recognizing a hidden gem is up to you to decide, but be careful when purchasing cards solely to speculate, hoping their prices rise.

5

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $41.33

Terrifying, But Still Adorable

The Bloodmoon Ursaluna Twilight Masquerade Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

This card is not only special as a Pokemon that was introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus instead of Scarlet & Violet, but it’s a difficult evolution to obtain both in trading card and digital form. This full art variant of Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex currently boasts an intimidating market value.

Ursaluna’s Seasoned Skill ability knocks the cost of Bloodmoon down by one for each prize card your opponent has taken, so it’s all about the comeback. Bloodmoon hits hard and keeps them down by preventing their next attack each time it’s used. Don’t mess with the bear.

4

Eevee (Illustration Rare) – $81.64

You Can Never Have Too Many Eevee

The Eevee Illustration rare from Twilight Masquerade in the Pokemon TCG.

This Eevee card is too cute to handle, with an adorable picture of a bunch of Eevee making themselves at home. The rarity of this card brings it to an impressive market value, making this Illustration Rare a great find.

Eevee’s only move is Quick Attack, but the Ascension ability allows you to hunt through your deck for an Eeveelution to evolve your Pokemon. It may function the same as any other Eevee card, but this delightful little pack of Eevee is sure to make your collection binder so much brighter and more cheerful.

3

Carmine (Special Illustration Rare) – $84.96

One Of Blueberry Academy’s Best

The Carmine SIR from Twilight Masquerade in the Pokemon TCG.

Kieran’s older sister Carmine showed up in Area Zero ready to change the world, and this full art variant of her Trainer card once topped the Twilight Masquerade market with a value of over $100. However, time has impacted her early valuation, bringing it to much more affordable levels.

In addition to being a beloved friend and trainer, Carmine has a great TCG effect. If you go first, this card allows you to use it during your first turn. A quick discard of the hand and getting to draw five new cards at the beginning of the game is incredibly useful if you need to dump your first draw for a new plan.

2

Perrin (Special Illustration Rare) – $104.29

Kitakami’s Newest Photographer

The Twilight Masquerade Perrin Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Perrin has come to Kitakami to bring her photography skills to the world of Pokemon. The unique art that makes you feel like a Pokemon in the middle of having its photo taken drives this Trainer card to a strong market value.

Collecting pictures of Pokemon is something all Pokemon TCG fans can agree with, and Perrin’s abilities help out with that. This card allows you to reveal up to two Pokemon in your hand, put them back into your deck, and shuffle to randomize what you’ve got again.

1

Greninja ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $380.11

The Hype Train Keeps Rolling

The Greninja EX from Twilight Masquerade in the Pokemon TCG.

When Greninja ex debuted, nobody could have imagined the unprecedented run it would make up the price charts, cementing its place as one of the most expensive cards in the Scarlet and Violet era thus far. Greninja’s chart follows the exact opposite pattern to most other cards in this set, steadily rising from $100 to over $300 since release.

While only time will tell where this card stops, Greninja stands out as one of the most colorful cards in Twilight Masquerade, though it’s hard to appreciate unless you see it in person.
