Between Last Epoch, Diablo 4, the original PoE, and Path of Exile 2, it’s definitely a good time for ARPGs right now. As a matter of fact, there are so many burgeoning, rival games that they’re seemingly starting to get in the way of one another. As Grinding Gear Games prepares for the next big Path of Exile 2 update, Eleventh Hour has seemingly decided to give itself – and players – some breathing room by delaying the launch of Last Epoch Season 2.
Including a new playable class, the next Path of Exile 2 update, 0.2.0, is slated for launch on Friday April 4. For the Last Epoch devout, however, that date will have triggered an alarm – it’s just two days after the initially planned release date for the second season of Eleventh Hour’s rival action RPG. These are huge games. There’s a lot to do. How are you going to enjoy both if the new updates arrive so close together? Eleventh Hour has similar concerns. Seemingly in response to PoE 2’s update being released in such close proximity, with “heavy heart,” the studio has decided to delay Last Epoch Season 2.

“We’ve recently learned that our friends in the ARPG space have chosen a release date just a couple days after ours which would divide the player base and hinder the success of our Season 2 launch,” Eleventh Hour says. “Last Epoch is still a smaller studio in this space that looks towards each of its launches as a way to continue to sustain the studio financially and work on the things we are most passionate about.
It is with a heavy heart that we are forced to move our release date of Season 2: Tombs of the Erased, to April 17th. As we adjust our launch date, we invite our community to help us spread the word so that everyone can join in the Season 2 experience, a massive update to Last Epoch that we’re thrilled to share with you.”
The new Last Epoch Season 2 release date is Thursday April 17. That represents a delay of just over two weeks. It’s not too long, and it should hopefully give you time to take in the latest additions to PoE 2, while also letting Eleventh Hour make the most of its own launch.
In the meantime, check out some of the other best fantasy games, or maybe the best games like Diablo available today.
