How to Get Ranged Weapons Fast in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The easiest way to quickly acquire a ranged weapon in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is to simply purchase it. While this may seem obvious, there is an important factor in Shadows that makes locating vendors a bit harder than in previous games in the franchise. If you are not playing in Guided Mode, then merchants do not simply appear on the map. You must discover them on foot, or receive a tip about their location through the Opportunities section of the Contract box in Kakuregas.

When you first unlock Yasuke, you may have already unlocked several merchants in towns like Sakai. There is a Gear Merchant that sells common and rare Bows and Teppos (guns). This will be the quickest way to get a ranged weapon as Yasuke. The ultimate goal will be a Legendary ranged weapon, which we can show you how to get as soon as you have a lesser ranged weapon for Yasuke.

You’ll find the Gear Vendor directly between the Sakai Firearms District and the Money Changer District.

If you complete missions as Yasuke, you’ll eventually unlock several Common and Rare ranged weapons. However, if you want to get the Legendary Bow as fast as possible, it’s much easier to simply buy a low-quality ranged weapon, as the time investment is significantly lower.

Makino Kurumazuka Kofun:

Once you have a basic ranged weapon for Yasuke, you’ll be able to easily collect one of the best Legendary Bows in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To do this, you must complete the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun.

This Kofun is an underground tomb that serves as a large environmental puzzle. Remember that only Yasuke can complete this Kofun. The Kofun is located directly north of the Hideout, in the Yawata Plains province. It is also directly east of Takatsuki Castle. Zoom in on the map and look for a strip of land with a pool of water to the north and south.

To enter the Kofun, you’ll need to carry a red exploding pot to the rock wall blocking the tunnel, which only Yasuke can do. Once in place, shoot it with the ranged weapon you purchased. Inside, you’ll need to keep playing as Yasuke, as there are several shelves that need to be moved. At the end of the Kofun, you’ll find the Blush of the Earth Legendary Bow.

Blush of the Earth’s Legendary Engraving allows you to extend the Clear Mind skill duration by 5 seconds, an incredibly powerful perk for sharpshooters. Remember, you can upgrade weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows once you recruit the blacksmith and build the forge at the hideout. This will allow you to keep your best weapons, like Blush of the Earth, properly leveled throughout your playthrough.
