Call of Duty is gearing up for Season 3 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The big update will bring the return of Verdansk to battle royale on April 3, and now Activision has issued a major warning to cheaters.
The official Call of Duty Updates account on Twitter has posted a reminder that account reselling is a violation of the Call of Duty terms of use, and that any account that has been knowingly sold will be permanently banned.
“Selling of accounts threatens the integrity of our community and our games,” Activision says.

The publisher also announces that a new Ricochet blog will be released closer to the launch of Season 3, which will reveal new anti-cheat technology and account security updates. An additional post from Activision reminds players to keep their accounts safe by using strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
Call of Duty has continually struggled against cheaters, and Activision is likely trying to build better defenses before Verdansk makes its big return to Warzone. Ricochet anti-cheat updates were made earlier this year, with “updated detection models” designed to better detect things like aim-bots and hardware-level cheats. Activision also seems to be battling hackers by shutting down some of the largest cheat developers.
