Summary

  • Marvel Rivals is bringing back some of the skins that were previously beta exclusives.
  • Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man will return to the hero shooter this Friday.
  • Their returns have sparked hope other skins left behind with the beta will eventually make a comeback.

Marvel Rivals might have launched in December 2024, but many people played it for the first time during the game’s beta that ran last summer. Some of you unlocked skins during that beta that disappeared once the test period came to an end and weren’t there when the game got its full launch. Now, a couple of those skins are coming back, including the one players have been asking for most.

Revealed via the official Marvel Rivals Twitter account, the Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man skins that have been missing from the hero shooter since its beta will be added to the item shop. Those who have been waiting for one or both of those skins to make their triumphant returns don’t have long to wait either with both returning to the game this Friday, March 21.

The skins have likely been chosen to return at the same time, and therefore be showcased alongside each other in new artwork, due to how much their concepts clash. The Spider-Punk skin is pulled from a fictional future, while Iron Man’s steam-powered suit has been designed with what Iron Man might have looked like had he existed 120 years ago. One skin from the past right alongside another from the future.

Skins Previously Lost To The Rivals Beta Are Making A Comeback

Prepare For The Game To Be Flooded With Spider-Punks This Weekend

NetEase holding back on bringing the Spider-Punk skin back to the game had some players thinking the character might be their own person rather than an alternative look for the game’s Peter Parker. Most Spidey fans will know Spider-Punk through Across The Spider-Verse, the character behind the mask being Hobart Brown, not Peter Parker. The return of the Spider-Punk skin all but confirms that’s not the plan, although you never know.

Beta players had the chance to unlock a lot of skins that are now AWOL from the full game. However, the effort that would have gone into their creations, coupled with two of them getting a full release, is a promising sign that more will follow. The skin players seem to want most after Spider-Punk is the Cyan Clash Venom. There’s a chance that one never returns as it was given to players who reached a certain level during the beta. Not only does that mean it’s technically in the full game, but giving people the chance to buy it might upset those who went through the beta grind to unlock it.
