Xbox 360 Console Found in Unexpected Location

Xbox 360 Console Found in Unexpected Location

Summary

  • The Xbox 360 was a top-selling console and very popular in its heyday.
  • Recently, an Xbox 360 was found stuck in a tree.
  • It’s unclear why the 360 was abandoned.

An Xbox 360 console was found outside, stuck in the middle of a tree. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 was the company’s biggest video game console sales success to date. While it was outsold by the Wii, the Xbox 360’s sales outpaced Sony’s PlayStation 3 for most of the seventh generation, and it is still remembered fondly to this day.

The Xbox 360 is home to all kinds of incredible games, and so it remains a fan favorite. Luckily, many high-profile Xbox 360 games are backward compatible on modern Xbox consoles, giving fans the chance to revisit the classics without digging their old console out of the closet. But while some Xbox 360 gamers still have their console connected to their TV and others have put it away in storage, it seems others still have abandoned their systems to the wilderness.

There is Now an Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Ugly Christmas Sweater

Microsoft releases a nostalgic Xbox 360-themed ugly Christmas sweater, but not all fans will be able to get their hands on it this holiday season.

Reddit user GlobalAlgae2826 recently shared a discovery they made of an Xbox 360 stuck in the center of a tree. The Xbox 360 appeared to be an older model, with significant damage done to the front of it. Based on the image, it looks like the 360 console may have been left there for quite some time. That being said, it’s unclear when or why the Xbox 360 console was left in the tree.

Xbox 360 Found In a Tree

Since the Xbox 360 in question is an older version of the system, it’s possible that it was abandoned because it stopped working. As many Xbox 360 fans will recall, the original versions of the system suffered from a catastrophic problem known as the Red Ring of Death. The Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death impacted over half of the original 360 console models, causing serious headaches for Microsoft. Maybe this Xbox 360 console was hit with the Red Ring of Death and abandoned outside out of frustration. Of course, there could be an entirely different explanation for how this Xbox 360 ended up where it did.

It’s possible, though unlikely, that the Xbox 360 may still work. If it does, it could potentially be one of the rare Xbox 360 consoles that still has the blades dashboard. However, if the Xbox 360 has truly been left in this tree for an extended period of time and not planted there recently, it would have been exposed to the elements and is unlikely to still function.

This is not the first time that Xbox hardware has been found in an unexpected location. Last year, an Xbox Kinect was found being used as the camera for a CT scan machine.
