WWE 2K25’s Most-Downloaded Community Creations Make One Thing Perfectly Clear

WWE 2K25's Most-Downloaded Community Creations Make One Thing Perfectly Clear

WWE 2K25 was released less than two weeks ago, but players have already uploaded a tremendous number of Community Creations. Indeed, there are more than 100,000 Community Creations available at the time of writing, and many more are undoubtedly on the way. While many of the currently available Community Creations in WWE 2K25 have received a number of downloads, two particular superstars have risen to the top of the heap, demonstrating that there is a great deal of interest in their presence in this video game series.

The information contained within this article has been pulled from the Community Creations pool that is available in the current-gen version of WWE 2K25, which is exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.

WWE 2K25’s Change to Women’s Matches Breaks a Long-Standing Rule

WWE 2K25 sets itself apart from all the other entries in the series with a change to women’s matches that players have been asking for.

Jeff and Matt Hardy Are the Most-Downloaded Community Creations in WWE 2K25

As some readers may have already guessed, the superstars in question are Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy, and they are at the top of both the “Most Downloaded” and “Most Up Voted” categories within WWE 2K25‘s Community Creations. More specifically, a creation based on Jeff has been downloaded nearly 42,000 times and has been up voted nearly 2,500 times, while a creation based on Matt has been downloaded nearly 35,000 and has been up voted 1,800 times. For comparison, the third-most downloaded creation is one based on Penta, and has almost 27,000 downloads, while the third-most up voted creation is one based on Sting, which has almost 1,600 up votes.

Both of the Hardy creations that are topping the charts were created by user WildmanontheHunt, and they are inspired by Jeff and Matt’s current run in TNA and WWE’s NXT program.

The popularity of these two creations makes one thing perfectly clear: many WWE fans want to have access to the Hardy Boyz in WWE 2K25. Some of this desire is, undoubtedly, a product of Jeff and Matt’s recent return to WWE, as many players who are downloading the creations will use them to recreate the Hardy Boyz’s Roadblock match in Play mode and to make their rosters current in Universe mode. However, it is likely that Community Creations inspired by Jeff and Matt would have been popular even if they had not returned, as that is the case every year when these superstars are not officially on the roster.

Jeff and Matt Hardy Haven’t Been in a WWE 2K Game for Years

With respect to the last WWE 2K games in which the Hardy Boyz officially appeared, Jeff was on WWE 2K22‘s roster, while Matt was on WWE 2K20‘s roster. Notably, these entries corresponded with the ends of WWE runs that Jeff and Matt started at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, and they would both find their way to All Elite Wrestling at the conclusion of those runs. This transition allowed both Jeff and Matt to appear in AEW Fight Forever, which was released in 2023, before the superstars returned to TNA and, ultimately, NXT.

Jeff and Matt Hardy May Have Just Missed the Chance to Be on WWE 2K25’s Roster

If the timing of the Hardy Boyz return to NXT was different, it is almost a certainty that they would have been officially included in the new game. Indeed, there are NXT superstars all over WWE 2K25‘s roster, and there is no reason that Jeff and Matt would have been excluded if they were part of the program when the game was in active development. Perhaps they could even have played roles in the game’s single-player campaign, which centers around an “NXT mutiny.”

While it is possible that the Hardy Boyz could be added to the game’s roster via an update, in an attempt to make the entry more current, it does not seem like there is room for them within WWE 2K25‘s DLC plans that have been shared.

Fortunately, it is all but guaranteed that there will be a WWE 2K26 next year, and Jeff and Matt are likely to find themselves on its roster if they continue appearing on NXT (or other WWE programs). Until then, though, players who want to take the Hardy Boyz into the ring will need to download them in the form of Community Creations, and that is something that more than 40,000 players have already done.
