Even if capturing wild creatures and defeating bosses is the main way to complete your creature collection in Palworld, breeding is a powerful mechanic to get some rare Pals. Breeding can be quite a complex process, especially since matching two different species of Pal most likely results in a completely different creature. There are also unique breeding combos needed to give birth to specific Pals.

In short, while mastering the breeding mechanic in Palworld is fundamental to uncovering the game’s secrets, trying out different matches can be tiresome and expensive. So, instead of wasting precious resources trying to figure out how to breed the best Pals in Palworld, you should check out our list of the best breeding combinations.
Updated on March 7, 2025, by Mohamed El Ouardighi: After the release of the Feybreak update, a number of new pals were introduced, which naturally resulted in some new breeding combinations that you can achieve in the game.
12
Incineram + Maraith
Result: Incineram Noct
is one of the best Dark element fighters you could have on your team. Unfortunately, this creature is only available inside the Wildlife Sanctuaries, protected areas filled with guards that demand stealth and strength to visit. A simpler way to get an Incineram Noct is just breeding your own.
If you have a regular Incineram
and a Maraith
in your collection, you can match them to get an Incineram Noct. Fortunately, Incineram and Maraith are a unique breeding combination that always results in the same Pal, so you could even get a battalion of Incineram Noct if you wish.
11
Vanwyrm + Foxcicle
Result: Vanwyrm Cryst
Another unique breeding combination that’s quite handy is that of Vanwyrm
and Foxicle. That’s because this match gives birth to Vanwyrm Cryst
, a double-element Pal that’s extremely strong and perfect for exploring the map.
Although Vanwyrm Cryst is one of the best Dark Pals you can add to your team, the creature only spawns at night far to the north. Instead of capturing one, breeding a Vanwyrm Cryst allows you to acquire this valuable flying mount much earlier in the game.
10
Vanwyrm + Anubis
Result: Faleris
can also be matched with Anubis
to breed Faleris
. Since this Fire Pal is a rare spawn of No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary, breeding is likely your best bet to adding it to your collection.

Anubis only appears as an alpha boss in the Twilight Dunes, a desertic region in the middle of the archipelago. While you can reach this region pretty soon in the game, Anubis shows up in Level 47, making it a late-game challenge. Still, once you catch Anubis, you can use it to save yourself the trouble of hunting down a Faeleris.
9
Lyleen + Menasting
Result: Lyleen Noct
appears as an Alpha Field Boss in the Iceberg Mineshaft at Level 49. That means catching a wild Lyllen Noct demands a lot of preparation. Of course, you can always breed one instead of spending resources fighting a Lyllen Noct.
To ensure you’ll get a Lyllen Noct from an egg, you only need to match a Lyleen
and a Menasting
. Unfortunately, since Menasting is a rare Pal that only appears in the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary (except for as a field boss in the Dessicated Mineshaft), there’s no way to get a Lyllen Noct without some effort on your part. Similarly, Lyleen can be found at No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary.
Every Wildlife Sanctuary is on an island that must be accessed from the air. Thanks to its flying speed and stamina, Vanwyrm Cryst is one of the best mounts to get to these distant places.
8
Blazehowl + Felbat
Result: Blazehowl Noct
is another Dark powerhouse you should add to your team. With strong Fire and Dark attacks and a Partner Skill that increases Neutral Pals drop, the blazing lion is also a great partner to hunt down rare resources.
To get Blazehowl Noct, you can hunt it down on the fiery mountains Southwest of the map or simply breed a regular Blazehowl
and a Felbat
. Combining these two Pals will always result in a Blazehowl Noct, allowing you to add a great Dak Pal to your collection.
7
Ragnahawk + Killamari
Result: Kitsun
Kitsun is a tricky Pal to capture. It only appears after dusk and spawns in a single location, in the mountain close to the Free Pal Alliance Tower Entrance. To make matters worse, Kitsun
likes to run away when it spots up. Fortunately, there’s a unique breeding combination that results in Kitsun.
To hatch a Kitsun from an egg, you only need to breed a Ragnahawk
and a Killamari
. Ragnahawk roams the Volcanic Island, while Killmari spawns inside caves. Killmari is also a rare spawn, but less than Kitsun, which makes the breeding path more viable.
While this is not the only breeding combo that can reportedly result in a Kitsun, our tests have shown this particular combo to be guaranteed to result in a Kitsun.
6
Frostallion Noct + Pengullet
Result: Splatterina
Splatterina is one of the new pals added with the Feybreak update, and she is not easy to come by. She is a rare pal that can be bred using one very rare pal and one regular one— Frostallion Noct
and Pengullet
.
The challenge is that Frostallion Noct can only be obtained through breeding, which adds an extra step. However, Splatterina is well worth it, as she is highly versatile at your base, excelling in Handiwork, Lumbering, Medicine Production, and Transporting.
5
Kitsun + Astegon
Result: Shadowbeak
With a Kitsun
on your team, you can breed a Shadowbeak
, arguably the best flying mount in the game. Astegon
can be found in two spots, either in the Destroyed Mineshaft or the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary. Since the two places are in opposite directions on the map, the best Astegon to catch depends on which regions you have already explored.

The trouble of catching an Astegon is well worth it, though. Shadowbeak is an incredible fighter that also makes exploration easier. So, the sooner you catch one, the better.
4
Mossanda + Rayhound
Result: Grizzbolt
is one of the first bosses you’ll take down in Palworld. Unfortunately, the opportunity to catch one comes much later when you can already infiltrate the Wildlife Sanctuaries. You can bypass this exigence by simply breeding your own Grizzbolt.
To hatch a Grizzbolt, you only need to match Mossanda
and Rayhound
. Both Pals are reasonably easy to find while you explore the archipelago. Mossanda spawns in the appropriately named Mossanda Forest and Rayhound in the desert to the map’s Northeast. Both are common enough to make this breeding combination viable in just a few hours of gaming.
3
Suzaku + Jormuntide
Result: Suzaku Aqua
hatches from the Huge Damp Egg
, which you can find in the wilds. However, since there’s no guarantee you’ll get this specific egg while exploring the archipelago, your best bet is to breed your own.
To ensure you’ll get the egg you need, all you need to do is match Suzaku
and Jormuntide
. Jormuntide is a late-game boss, while Suzaku spawns in the Norteast desert of Palworld.
2
Anubis + Frostallion
Result: Bastigor
Bastigor is an absolute beast, and he is among the best new pals added to the game thanks to his abilities. However, you can only breed this pal using both an Anubis
and a Frostallion
. Both of these pals are already strong in their own way, so it’s a win-win situation to get all three.
Breeding them will produce a Huge Frozen Egg
, which can be used to obtain Bastigor. Bastigor excels in combat thanks to his powerful attacks, but that’s not all—he can also be used as a mount to traverse the land.
1
Helzephyr + Frostallion
Result: Frostallion Noct
is the only Legendary Pal not available on the world map. In addition, Frostallion Noct is the only Pal you can exclusively acquire through breeding. For those reasons, the best breeding combination for any kind of Palworld is undoubtedly Helzephyr
and Frostallion
.
Frostallion is an Ice Legendary Pal you’ll face in the Astral Mountains. Helzephyr, on its turn, spawns in the evening around Hypocrite Hill. Once you have both Pals in your possession, you can match them both and birth a Frostallion Noct.

Palworld has been described as Pokemon with guns and well, it’s hard to argue with that. The game is very similar in nature to the Pokemon formula, tasking you with catching and working with monsters called Pals. There are key differences, though. Palworld is rooted in multiplayer, oh, and, unlike Pokemon, its Pals have guns.
