Solo Leveling Has Paved The Way For More Webtoons to Get Animated
20+ Webtoon Anime Coming
Solo Leveling has, to put it simply, been a huge success. This series was adapted into an anime, but its original media is a Korean webtoon. Never has a webtoon series achieved the level of success Solo Leveling has, even though many were very successful, such as The Tower of God.
In fact, Solo Leveling has been such a success that more Webtoons might be getting anime adaptations. To be specific, Japanese studios are looking to pick up webtoon stories to make into anime.
Based on the rumors, it would seem that 20 or more of these adaptations could happen. Many Japanese studios have seen the potential Webtoons have, and are wanting in on it.
The manga industry in Japan has been having a big shortage of great series to adapt into anime, and many major series have recently ended, making space for new series to come in. For example, Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia recently ended in late 2024, and the anime seasons they can now adapt for them are very limited.
Solo Leveling has shown that Webtoons can, in fact, be more popular than manga series. Solo Leveling is perhaps one of the biggest series out right now, even though it doesn’t even have that many episodes out.
Which Webtoons Could Get an Anime Adaptation?
There are many great Webtoons out there, and for now, fans have no idea which ones will get an anime adaptation next. That said, however, any webtoon that is to get an anime adaption needs to have enough content out, so perhaps Webtoons that have had constant publications for two years or more stand a better chance.
Fans definitely have a few in mind when it comes to the ones that should be animated, and some examples include Purple Hyacinth, and the Greatest Estate Developer, among others.
