While there aren’t as many pig Pokémon as rodents or horses, we’ve ranked all the pig-related Pokemon for you in this list!

Primeape

Primeape, like its pre-evolution Mankey, is often referred to as a “pig monkey.” While it looks more like a monkey than a pig, its snout gives it a pig-like appearance. Known for its anger, Primeape evolves into Annihilape, which isn’t called a “pig monkey” despite its fiery temperament.

Though pigs aren’t typically associated with rage, wild boars might be an exception. Primeape’s anger sometimes gets the best of it—so much so that it could even lead to its demise! The Pokedex entry in Pokemon Sun mentions that after Primeape’s death, its face looks peaceful, a sharp contrast to its usual fury.

Mamoswine

Mamoswine might look like a mighty mammoth at first glance—with its size, colors, and tusks—but it also has a boar-like side, especially thanks to its snout and bulky build. While it seems almost unstoppable, its natural predators include Weavile.

To be fair, Weavile also hunts Pokemon like Alolan Sandshrew and Alolan Vulpix, but taking down a Mamoswine is definitely a trophy-worthy catch—just like how ancient humans hunted mammoths. According to some Pokedex entries, Mamoswine was frozen in ice for 10,000 years before being rediscovered. One more surprising fact? Its tusks aren’t just for show—they’re actually made of ice!

Mankey

Mankey, like its evolution Primeape, is referred to as a “pig monkey.” While Mankey has a pig-like nose, it resembles a monkey more, specifically a baboon. However, due to its mix of both monkey and pig traits, it is most similar to snub-nosed monkeys.

Like this type of monkey, Mankey lives in trees and is quite social. Another characteristic is their loud screeching, which is why it’s not surprising that Mankey learns the move Screech. In the anime, a Mankey evolved into Primeape after stealing Ash’s hat, and Ash eventually caught it.

Piloswine

Piloswine, as its name suggests, is a swine Pokemon that resembles a wild boar. Its most notable features are its hump, tusks, and the fur covering its eyes. However, underneath that fur, you can spot Ditto-like dot-shaped eyes! Even though it looks like it has no feet, they’re actually hidden beneath the fur.

Piloswine, along with its first evolution Swinub and final evolution Mamoswine, is the only Pokemon with a Ground and Ice type combo, making this evolutionary line special. It has strong Health and Attack stats, but sadly, its type combination only gives it resistance to Poison and immunity to Electric.

Oinkologne

Oinkologne is a hog Pokemon known for its distinct male and female designs. However, the differences aren’t just cosmetic. The male Oinkologne can have the ability Lingering Aroma, while the female’s ability is Gluttony. Another difference is that the male learns many of its moves later than the female.

Like its pre-evolution, Lechonk, both male and female Oinkologne have a pink shiny form, making them even more pig-like. Additionally, the male Oinkologne’s ability, Lingering Aroma, is unique and has no other Pokemon with it. This ability causes Pokemon that make contact with Oinkologne using a move to have their ability changed to Lingering Aroma.

Swinub

Swinub, as the first pig Pokemon in terms of its Pokedex number, resembles pigs and, to some extent, moles. In the anime, Dawn has an adorable Swinub. These little creatures are always sniffing the ground, mud, and snow for food, and they can even find mushrooms, berries, and hot springs! In Hisui, people found this skill incredibly useful.

Evolving Swinub isn’t easy, though; you’ll need to level it up to 33, and once it evolves, it’s not as cute as its pre-evolution! Fun fact: Swinub’s shiny sprite was once blue in Generation II, gray in Generation III, and has since taken on a more greenish hue in later generations.

Spoink

Spoink is one of the cutest pig Pokemon out there! Unlike other pig Pokémon, it doesn’t stand on its feet but instead moves by bouncing on its spring-like tail. In some Pokedex entries, it’s mentioned that if Spoink stops bouncing, it will die—making it much more fragile compared to the tough, sturdy nature of other pigs.

The pearl on its head isn’t just for decoration; it’s produced by Clamperl and boosts Spoink’s psychic powers. If you hatch a Spoink, be cautious—until a certain level, it only knows Splash! But once it learns Confusion, it can handle itself much better!

Pignite

Pignite, the evolved form of Tepig, is a confident pig Pokemon that stands proudly on two legs. With its evolution, it gains the Fighting type alongside Fire. Known for its protective nature toward friends, Pignite actually fuels its power through food! By burning the meals stored in its belly, it raises its body heat and gets even stronger—and faster, especially when angry.

This fearless Pokémon can learn moves like Wild Charge, Head Smash, and Flare Blitz. If you evolve it into Emboar and it has the Reckless ability, those recoil moves will hit even harder—perfect for a fiery powerhouse!

Grumpig

Grumpig is one of the pig Pokemon, standing tall on two legs—quite the change from Spoink! Its spring has moved to its tail, and instead of just one pearl, it now has three black ones that boost its psychic powers even more. Like some other pig Pokémon, Grumpig can have the Thick Fat ability, giving it resistance to Fire and Ice moves.

Fun fact: in Generation III, it was the only Pokémon to learn Magic Coat by level-up, a move that bounces certain status moves back at the attacker. Considering Grumpig loves to manipulate foes with its hypnotic dance, that’s perfectly fitting!

Emboar

Though Emboar’s name includes “boar,” it’s known as the Mega Fire Pig Pokemon. Its design is inspired by a Chinese-style boar, and while its offensive stats are usually higher than its defensive ones, it’s not the fastest. Although Fire and Fighting-type starter Pokemon became somewhat cheesy after Sinnoh, Emboar stands out from Blaziken and Infernape with its bulkier appearance.

Until Sword & Shield, Emboar and its evolutions were the only ones able to learn Heat Crash, making its weight even more deadly! So, while it might not be the quickest, it sure packs a punch with that hefty size!

Lechonk

Lechonk is one of the most pig-like Pokemon and can be considered a hog. Its shiny form, in particular, is a lovely pink, making it even more adorable and pig-like. Introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it can learn a limited set of moves, mostly Normal-type, but also some Ground and Grass moves.

With its big snout, Lechonk has an excellent sense of smell. Though it may appear plump, it’s actually quite muscular. In the anime, it’s even attacked people carrying food, which is surprising given its sweet appearance. Despite its wild side, Lechonk is one of the most huggable Pokemon around!

Tepig

Tepig is easily one of the cutest and most iconic pig Pokemon—if you love pigs, picking this Fire-type starter is an easy choice! In Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Tepig is one of the starter Pokemon. Its evolution, Pignite, and its final form, Emboar, gain the Fighting type alongside Fire.

Tepig’s snout isn’t just adorable—it can also blast flames! Real pigs aren’t great at controlling their body temperature, which is why they love mud baths. Tepig, however, takes a more creative approach, using its nose for fiery fun instead of cooling off!
