One Piece Fans Say They Are Concerned About Manga Sales
One Piece Volume 111 Has Over 760k Sales Right Now
One Piece is definitely known for how incredible its sales are, and how consistent they have been over the last three decades. One Piece is a series that has been ongoing for almost 30 years now, and keeping fans interested in a series this long is no easy job. Many manga series have the same amount of chapters, or even more than One Piece, but don’t have half its total sales numbers.
Recently, One Piece Volume 111 came out—the first volume of the Elbaf arc. This volume has, in its first week, sold over 760k copies. While this seems like a huge number, some One Piece fans were concerned about these numbers, stating One Piece sales are dropping.
According to certain fans, previous volumes of One Piece have had way higher sales, but this is not necessarily true. As previously stated, One Piece has been serialized for almost 30 years, and to expect constant or consistently increasing sales with every volume isn’t realistic. One Piece sales have ups and downs, especially depending on what’s happening in the manga.
The few previous volumes of One Piece, volumes 110, 109, 108, and 107, had these sales in the first week – 617k, 811k, 994k, and 890k. If anything, One Piece Volume 111 sales actually went up from Volume 110, which were 617k in the first week.
Volume 111 isn’t too far back on the higher selling volumes, and Elbaf has just started. The sales will pick up when the climax is hit.
Another thing many fans fail to realize is that physical sales of manga are dropping in general, and this isn’t unique to One Piece. Other big series, such as Jujutsu Kaisen, have also experienced this. This is, however, expected, as many online options exist, such as the Manga Plus app.
Where To Read One Piece
One Piece’s Elbaf arc is currently pretty exciting, and it keeps picking up in terms of quality. The story is only going to get more exciting from here onwards. The manga is available to find on Manga Plus or Viz Media.
