Journey Together’s GameStop And Best Buy Pokemon Promo Cards Revealed

Journey Together's GameStop And Best Buy Pokemon Promo Cards Revealed

Summary

  • Pokemon has revealed Journey Together’s promo cards with the new set releasing next week.
  • Buying TCG products at GameStop will get you Hop’s Snorlax, while Best Buy will have a Hop’s Dubwool card.
  • All you need to do at either store to qualify for the card is spend $15 or more on Pokemon TCG products.

Just when you thought the Pokemon TCG chaos was about to settle down for a bit following the release of Prismatic Evolutions, the cycle is about to begin all over again. Scarlet & Violet‘s next expansion, Journey Together will be released next week, and if you’re lucky enough to find some of the next set’s products in stock at select retailers, you’ll get an exclusive promo card included with your order.

Unlike most other Pokemon promo giveaways, these cards aren’t Pokemon Center exclusives. GameStop and Best Buy have one each, which means you’re going to have to buy Journey Together products at both, and spend $30 or more between the two stores, if you want copies of each card.

Elite Trainer Boxes from the set, which sold out almost instantly, are already being relisted for hundreds of dollars.

GameStop will have the Hop’s Snorlax card, while customers who make their Journey Together purchases at Best Buy will be rewarded with a Hop’s Dubwool promo card. All you will need to do at either of the locations is spend $15 or more on Pokemon TCG products. They don’t even need to be products from the new Journey Together set, meaning even if it all sells out right away, there’s still a chance you could land a promo card from the set with your purchase.

That said, if you do go to GameStop or Best Buy on March 28, 2025 – Journey Together’s release day – and everything from the set is already gone, that probably means the promo cards will be gone too. Each store location will have a limited quantity of the cards and once they’re gone, they’ll probably be gone for good. They might sell out so fast that if you plan on trying to get both, I’d decide which one you want most and make sure you at least get that as there’s a chance by the time you’re done with one, the other card will have sold out.

The Hop’s Snorlax card will be available at GameStop locations throughout the US and Canada, while Australian collectors will be able to pick up the card at EB Games locations. Hop’s Dubwool, however, appears to be a US-only promo for now, and there’s no mention of where European Pokemon fans might be able to get the cards.

As the name of the set and its promo cards suggest, Journey Together is all about trainers and their partner Pokemon. Owner’s Pokemon, which have been renamed Trainer’s Pokemon for Journey Together, have been a staple of the TCG for years, but this will be the first time they’ve been part of a set for years.
