Getting the rare novacrystals in Monster Hunter Wilds can be a task.

But, at the same time, there may be a little confusion about where they are, and how to get them if you’re in High Rank. If you’re having a hard time farming for the feathers or don’t know where they are, this guide will show you the steps you need to take.

The answer to this question lies in the name. You’ll need to be hunting specifically Guardian Seikrets for the feathers to drop.

They are the more aggressive version of the Seikret mount you have in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, due to their smaller size, like Baunons and Harpios, they are easy to fight and take down. Similarly, they also travel in packs.

Finding Guardian Seikrets is straightforward, you have to progress to Chapter 3 and reach the Ruins of Wyveria. This area will be the last region you unlock before the end game.

When you reach the Ruins of Wyveria and have access to the wider area, make your way to Areas 9 or 10 of the ruins. These spots have a good concentration of Guardian Seikrets. You might have some luck in Area 8 as well.

If they’re not showing up in those locations, you can open up your map and spot them easily since they have their own icon. When you do, put a waypoint on it, and then you can head to them easily.

There’s also an Optional Quest that can help you obtain the feathers faster than searching in the wild. When you interact with Alma at the Base Camp, select the Spread Those Wings quest. This will have you slaying six Guardian Skeirets. Upon completion, you’ll be awarded guaranteed feathers.

If you hunt and carve Guardian Seikrets in the wild, they don’t guarantee a feather drop. To get the feathers at a consistent rate, you can keep on redoing the Optional Quest at Alma’s Quest Counter.

It’s also worth mentioning that slaying Guardian Seikrets will help you get Tough Guardian Bone.

After you get past the Low Rank section of Monster Hunter Wilds and make it to the endgame, you can start earning Guardian Seikret Feathers+. When you reach Chapter 4 and watch the credits, head back to the Ruins of Wyveria and slay the Guardian Seikrets in the same spots as mentioned earlier. You should start seeing Guaridan Seikret Feathers+ at this point.

This might take some time for the feathers to appear since Guardian Seikrets don’t have a 100 percent chance of dropping the feathers in the wild. However, as stated earlier, they do travel in packs, so the chances of getting the High Rank version might increase.

Also, if you’re in High Rank and need the Guardian Seikret Feathers without the plus, you can still get them. Just talk to Alma at the Base Camp and select the Spread Those Wings Optional Quest. Follow the instructions by killing six Guardian Seikrets, and you’ll earn the normal feathers.
