When it comes to pirate groups in One Piece, no other crew has a dynamic quite like the Big Mom Pirates. Being both a massive family and a pirate crew, the Big Mom Pirates have some of the most unique relationships among One Piece crews. Between admiration for an older and stronger brother to a few good old-fashioned sibling rivalries, Oda did an amazing job creating the Charlotte family and the overall structure of the group.

Specifically, some of the most important members of the Charlotte family and, in turn, the Big Mom Pirates, are the strongest fighters of the crew, the Sweet Commanders. Compared to other crews, the Sweet Commanders are the Senior Officers of the Big Mom Pirates, partially leading the crew, and destroying any foes that get in Big Mom’s way. These Are The Toughest Children Of The Charlotte Family

As is the case for many other crews in One Piece, the defining aspect that designates the Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates is raw power. While other aspects, like popularity, among the family are hugely important, in the end, this seems to be the sole deciding factor when it comes to choosing a Sweet Commander. Additionally, although there are only three Sweet Commanders in the current story of One Piece, the number of commanders is flexible, depending on how many crew members Big Mom deems worthy of joining the rank.

Snack Was A Former Sweet Commander

He Lost His Position After His Defeat

First up, and least important of the Sweet Commanders in One Piece, is Snack. Being the Minister of Fries for the Big Mom crew, Snack has a bounty of 600,000,000 Berries, a fairly respectable number that denotes a fairly impressive level of combat strength. However, he does appear to be the weakest of the Sweet Commanders since he was defeated by Urogue of the Worst Generation, leading to Big Mom stripping him of his title and demoting him to be a regular crew member.

He Was Still Strong Enough To Present A Massive Challenge For Luffy

Next up is Cracker, the first Sweet Commander who remains in his position to this day. Sporting a bounty of 860,000,000 Berries, Cracker is the Minister of Biscuits and possesses the Bis-Bis Devil Fruit, an ability that lets him create and control biscuits. Using this ability, Cracker is able to form legions of biscuit soldiers to fight for him, as well as create an extremely durable biscuit armor to protect himself. During the Whole Cake Island Arc, Luffy faced off against Cracker in a grueling battle that lasted an incredibly long time. In the end, Luffy was able to defeat Cracker, with his defeat sending Tottoland to high alert.

Smoothie Is A Strong And Underutilized Sweet Commander

Next, although we haven’t seen her in action too much, is Smoothie, yet another powerful Sweet Commander of the Big Mom Pirates. Being a massive human-Long Legs Tribe hybrid, Smoothie is Tottoland’s powerful Minister of Juice, who has an impressive bounty of 932,000,000 Berries. Her Devil Fruit, One Piece’s Wring-Wring Fruit, gives her the ability to drain and absorb liquid from other things, giving her a massive boost in power. Throughout Whole Cake Island, Smoothie was a powerful force, attempting to stop One Piece’s Straw Hats from escaping after the failed assassination attempt. Her most important encounter came while she was pursuing the Thousand Sunny as it fled Tottoland, where she would show the true extent of the Wring-Wring Fruit, using the absorbed juice to fire energy blasts at the fleeing ships.

Katakuri Is An Amazing Sweet Character And One Piece Character

The Strongest Fighter In Big Mom’s Crew

Finally, and most importantly, is the strongest member of the Sweet Commanders, Katakuri. Being the strongest member of the Charlotte children, almost every sibling in the Big Mom Pirates looked up to Katakuri as a powerful guardian of the pirate crew. With a Bounty of 1,057,000,000 Berries, mastery over all three forms of Haki and Advanced Observation Haki in One Piece, as well as the surprisingly strong Mochi-Mochi Fruit, Katakuri is an absolute powerhouse of the Big Mom Pirates. As many fans know, his clash with Luffy at the end of the Whole Cake Island Arc was one of Luffy’s greatest challenges so far, pushing Luffy to learn Advanced Observation Haki as well. In the end, although Luffy defeated Katakuri, the two learned to respect each other, with Katakuri even acknowledging Luffy’s dream of becoming the Pirate King.

With how interesting these characters are, and One Piece’s Big Mom Pirate’s continued relevance in the story, fans will likely see these characters again before the end of the series. Potentially, with these children being far more honorable than their mother, it is possible that the Sweet Commanders could form an alliance with the Straw Hats in the future. However, until this day comes, fans will just have to remember the amazing moments they already had with One Piece’s Sweet Commanders.
