Summary
- While most PS5 games are still fairly new, there are already special editions that cost a few hundred dollars.
- Limited Run Games and other distributors offer special editions like Resident Evil 4 CE and Cult Of The Lamb True Believer Edition at premium prices.
- Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 are at the top of the list with their CEs.
Looking at the prices of PlayStation 5 games is quite fascinating because this system is still ongoing, unlike most of the consoles people collect for. A lot of the online store exclusives that filled the rarest PS4 games also come over to the PS5, but most aren’t wildly expensive, for now.

Many titles available on the PlayStation 3 are quite rare. Do you own any of these valuable games?
Since most of these games are still fairly new, their value can drastically increase or decrease as time goes on, and you just don’t see that with retro systems. Unfortunately, similar to retro systems, the value of some of these games is ludicrous, and the PS5’s library actually beats some retro ones in terms of price.
All values are based on PriceCharting’s complete price at the time of writing. When no complete price is available, the loose price will be used instead.
Updated on March 15, 2025, by Dominic Allen: Unlike the Xbox Series X|S, people still buy physical PS5 games, and for good reason. Physical PS5 gaming is a lot more offline friendly, with nearly every PS5 exclusive title having the full game on the actual 4K Blu-ray disc. You can’t really say that about Xbox with its physical games. As such, PS5 has more demand from collectors, which results in rare game prices rising or falling as time goes on. What used to be the rarest PS5 game is now many spots below it.

Final Fantasy 16 Collector’s Edition – $312
A Rare Game That’s Actually A Loss
A lot of Collector’s Editions nowadays have to be bought on the publisher’s website, and Square Enix is a prime example. The Square Enix store sold many exclusive items that are hundreds of dollars now, but that was mainly early on when people didn’t take advantage of the store.
Final Fantasy 16 launched in 2023, and people knew about the shop by word of mouth then, so many bought it at its retail price of $350. Sadly, if you bought one, you’re eating a $38 loss if you want to resell it. It just shows the price changes when the number of copies available is higher than it used to be.

River City Girls Fan Bundle – $328
Trading Cards Are No Joke
With these newer systems, you’re bound to find Limited Run products among the rarest games, and the PS5 is no exception. River City Girls Fan Bundle has to be one of the more interesting Limited Run releases, however. The actual rarity of the product is rather high, but suspiciously, if you try to buy one through eBay or other places, you’ll only find the trading cards that came with the bundle.
This means people likely organ harvested these releases solely to resell the cards. That’s probably why finding a complete version of this bundle is so difficult. Just when you thought you couldn’t escape from the Pokemon card-collecting-style frenzy.
11
Dead Space Remake Collector’s Edition – $331
Perfect For Your Isaac Cosplay
Limited Run Games have gotten so big that it’s now doing Collector’s Editions for triple-A games from big publishers like EA. The Dead Space Remake’s Collector’s Edition is actually pretty awesome. You get various nicknacks, along with an actual CD soundtrack, but the big item has to be the replica Isaac helmet.

This is the Level 3 suit helmet, the most iconic in the game. It even lights up, and the quality here would please any hardcore Dead Space fan. Originally priced at $275, it’s only gone up a little over $50 more, but this is one product that can definitely skyrocket in the future.
10
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Collector’s Edition – $356
The Cat’s Out Of The Bag
Many of the rarest PlayStation 4 games are Square Enix Store exclusives because, for the longest time, nobody really took advantage of it. It wasn’t until these past couple of years that people realized this store had so much to offer. With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Collector’s Edition being a 2024 launch, people knew about the store by that point.
There are a bunch of copies out there, but it’s still pretty expensive, as it was originally $350. You get a great package, at least, with an amazing Sephiroth statue, among other goodies. It’s just the lack of obscurity that makes this product not even a full $10 over its original price.
9
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Collector’s Edition – $360
A Lightsaber That’s Not As Special As You May Think
Another Limited Run and EA collaboration, the Collector’s Edition for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor seemed awesome at first. You get only one real item, along with the game, but it’s a big one. You get a replica Cal lightsaber hilt with its own premium case to hold it. Worth $300, it seemed like a premium package until people did some digging.

Nostalgic racers and expensive console bundles made the cut.
It turns out these Cal replica lightsabers come from the Star Wars-themed areas at Disney parks, and even when you add in the price of that item sold there, you wouldn’t be getting a great deal from this $300 purchase. It’s not surprising this product hasn’t risen too much in price and likely won’t until perhaps those Cal hilts stop being sold.
8
Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition – $362
GameStop Exclusives In 2023?
Every new Resident Evil game in recent years has a Collector’s Edition, often involving a statue of one of the main characters. RE4 Remake follows suit with a statue of Leon S. Kennedy, a poster, an art book, and even a digital soundtrack. It’s understandable why it hasn’t ballooned too much in price from its original $250, considering the game’s still rather new, and it didn’t sell out fast, unlike other products.
This Collector’s Edition was a GameStop exclusive, a tradition Capcom’s been doing since the CE for Resident Evil 7. Buying it through GameStop is definitely more convenient than most other store exclusives, but the game was so critically acclaimed that you’ll still need to spend over $100 more than its original asking price if you want to get it today.
7
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Collector’s Edition – $415
A Game Many Didn’t Expect To Be So Valuable
Many were looking forward to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, but a lot of people didn’t see how big of a release the title ended up being. The Collector’s Edition was a Focus Entertainment store exclusive priced at $250, and while similar CEs sold out incredibly fast, not so much for Space Marine 2.
It was available for quite a while, but by the time people figured this product would be a high-ticket item in the future, it was too late. Selling over $150 over its original price, at least you get an incredible and badass-looking statue in the package. With these CEs, you must have a great statue, and Space Marine 2 delivers.
6
Evil Dead: The Game Ultimate Collector’s Edition – $571
A Great Deal
Evil Dead: The Game isn’t a title you’d expect in the top three rarest PS5 games, but the reason it’s so valuable is quite interesting. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition, priced at $200 and sold exclusively through Boss Team Games, includes everything in the normal Collector’s Edition but with one additional big-ticket item. That item is a prop, Evil Dead 2 Necronomicon, by Trick or Treat Studios.

The PS2 had some iconic games in its library. If you still own some of these, you might be sitting on a gold mine.
This item alone costs $120 through Trick or Treat’s website, and when you factor in everything else included, you’d be getting a banger deal for $200. It’s no surprise this product sold out incredibly fast, but on the bright side, nothing here is exclusive, so you can buy the regular CE and prop separately for a cheaper amount than $571.
5
Cult Of The Lamb True Believer Edition – $595
The Rarest Indie Game On The PS5
While Limited Run Games is the biggest distributor of non-triple-A titles today, other companies are doing the same thing, like Special Reserve Games. It sold Cult of the Lamb True Believer Edition, a product that originally sold for $225, which is quite steep for an indie game. This may be why the True Believer Edition is so rare, with extremely few listings throughout the years.
What’s very important to note is that this edition doesn’t just include an art book, but a signed art book, and depending on the future, these signatures can make this product’s value wildly go up. That’s exactly why Dead Space Ultra Limited edition is the rarest title on the Xbox 360.
4
Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s Edition – $617
One Of The Biggest Profits
Since the console ports of Baldur’s Gate 3 came after the PC version launched, the game was already regarded as not only one of the best PC games of all time but the best game, period. You bet by the time the PS5 Collector’s Edition went up for pre-order on Larian’s website, it sold out quicker than Taylor Swift concert tickets.
You actually get a truckload of things in this CE, including dice, Magic: The Gathering packs, and an amazing statue featuring two characters in a dynamic pose that really trumps all the other statues in these rare PS5 games. If you bought this product at its original price of $260, you could flip it for nearly over $350 in profit. That’s wild.
3
A Plague Tale: Requiem Collector’s Edition – $687
A Product That Actually Gave You A Second Chance
One of the most critically acclaimed games of 2022 was A Plague Tale: Requiem, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that its incredibly rare Collector’s Edition is worth so much. Sold exclusively on the Focus Entertainment Store and priced at $190, it sold out fast.
However, unlike most other products, you did get a second chance here as it went back in stock one more time before finally being sold out for good. If this didn’t happen, the Collector’s Edition might be worth nearly a grand. As it is, it’s still nearly $700, but you at least get a nice statue and vinyl for your purchase.
2
Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon Premium Edition – $692
The Most Expensive Base Purchase
You know a Collector’s Edition is truly something else when it costs about the same as the console you’re playing on. The Premium Edition of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon was a Bandai Namco Store exclusive and cost $450. That’s just wild, and you can actually still buy the Xbox and PS4 Edition in the store, at least at the time of publication.
By that fact, this product’s a slow seller, and with a $450 base price, why wouldn’t it be? You get an awesome mech garage setup figure, which is really high quality and definitely worth a couple hundred dollars but not quite $450. With the slow sales, this product will likely rise in price, but probably not as much as the rarest PS5 game.
1
Elden Ring Premium Collector’s Edition – $1,176
A Top-Tier Game In Both Quality And Value
Strangely enough, the arguably best game on the console is also the rarest. Elden Ring was the most hyped-up game of 2022, and it delivered perfectly. It’s no surprise this Premium Collector’s Edition, sold at $260 and exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store, sold out within the first hour.
Within this package, you get everything in the normal CE, including a sweet statue of Malenia. The exclusive item is a full-size replica helmet that looks great. It’s really cool for hardcore fans, but the thousand-dollar price is absurd, and sadly, many are buying it at that price.
