In this quest, they will find all the information they need to make the best possible choice according to what they want to gain from helping the miners, double-crossing them, or turning the letter to the bailiff. How To Start Post Scriptum Sub Quest In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To start Post Scriptum, players should travel to Kuttenberg’s west exit and keep going through the western road until they find an inn. Go to the dice-playing tables and search for an NPC named Kvyertsolav.

He will tell Henry that he is in need of help to write a letter. No matter how much the players will try to pry on the sordid business the miner’s association has with a shaft owner named Markold. Kvyertsolav won’t reveal much, but he will test players to see if they know that they have a high enough Scholarship skill level by asking what a poem says.

It is important to mention that players need to have their Scholarship at level 20 to pass all the Medium Checks required to complete this Sub-Quest. So make sure that, before proceeding, Henry is savvy enough to be able to write a convincing letter.

Now go to the destination that Kvyertsolav mentioned: it is an old building inside the place where Henry was ambushed during Into the Underworld Main Quest. Once there, turn left and climb the stairs to access a place where two men will jump at the very presence of Henry and request the password, which is: ‘Justice is worth more than silver.

The miners will request Henry to sit down and start writing. And now, comes the first choice: decide what to write as both men discuss what’s the best approach to ‘convince’ Markold to release their friends.

Should You Write A Polite Or Threatening Letter In Post Scriptum?

During this part of the Post Scriptum Sub-Quest, Henry will always have 3 choices to write in every paragraph of the letter. All three choices presented are medium Scholarship Checks (Skill Level 20 Required). The first option is rude, the second is polite, and the third one is intimidating.

In order to get the best possible results, Henry should listen to the oldest miner, and try to write as politely as possible. So, pick the second option in each of the Checks, to write an appropriate letter to convince Markold to release the miners.

There won’t be much information about why the shaft owner is keeping the miners as prisoners, but if players pay attention, it turns out to be that Markold is illegally forcing labor on the Miners, and the miners cannot go to the local authority because they’re wanted men, and Markold knows it. So, after writing the letter, the Miners will try to dispose of Henry.

Players can either pass a Hard intimidation check, or a Medium Speech check to convince them to spare him the trouble of trashing their faces against the walls. Of course, players can at this point figure out something really shady is going on and opt to bail out by killing the miners and forgetting about that. But try not to do so, as this might flag Henry as a murderer and it will lead to a bad ending if the guards catch him.

Instead, try to solve it in the most civilized way. There will be a chance to get lots of juicy rewards if players follow through with the quest. Now, there are a few choices to complete the Post Scriptum Quest; let’s take a look at them in detail.

Should Players Deliver The Letter To Markold Or Rat Them Out To The Bailiff?

Now for the second important choice of the Post Scriptum Quest, players can either warn the Bailiff about the miners or deliver the letter to Markold.

If players go directly to the Bailiff and warn them about what the miners are planning, they will deliver the letter to him. This will immediately complete the quest, and grant players a meager 100 Groschen as a reward. This option is not recommended, as it will end badly for the miners and make Henry lose some reputation.

To find Markov and deliver the letter, travel to the alternate Quest Marker on the map (near the central market) and open the Black Door next to the Tailor Shop, which will immediately be marked as a restricted area, and a bodyguard will stop Henry on its tracks.

Players need to convince him that he is there to deliver a letter to master Markold, and say nothing else. Once the bodyguard allows them to step inside, climb the stairs and find Markold in his office.

Henry can choose to rat the miners out to Markold, and will receive 60 x Groschen for their trouble (something not recommended as it is by far the lowest reward of the quest). The quest will be marked as completed from that point.

If players decide to just deliver the letter and not a single detail about the miners, choose the appropriate dialogue options:

  • I’m Looking for Master Markold.
  • Someone gave me this letter.

With those choices, there will be no further interrogation, and Henry will do all the work by himself. After learning about Markold’s decision to release the miners, travel to Hloushetz Gate (The northern entrance to Kuttenberg) as marked on the map, and wait around the gate for an hour or two. Two miners will appear, and then Henry can choose to follow them to receive an extra reward. It is highly recommended to do so to collect the best possible rewards for the quest.

Should Players Side With Markold, The Miners, Or Escape?

After talking to the miners and accepting to go with them, there will be a small fast-travel cutscene, and Henry will appear at the miner’s camp, where he can talk to Myribor (the one who asked him to write the letter) to trigger the next part of the quest.

Before talking with Myribor, make sure to be fully equipped and prepare for a tough fight. Henry will have to face several enemies, so a two-handed weapon is recommended.

Turns out, Markold was playing with Henry, and he made someone follow him and the miners in secret, and he will appear in the camp making one of the coolest references to Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) players will see in a game.

He has no plans to solve this peacefully, so players can now choose to side with him and kill the miners (which is not recommended, since Markold will then turn on them), to Escape by passing a Speech check (which will automatically fail the quest and leave Henry with half the rewards) or attack Markold and his goons to end this once and for all.

After killing Markold and the mercenaries, make sure to loot his body and the keys to his house and chests. Same with his bodyguards. The best reward would be the Quality 3 Plate Armor set that he drops as loot, including the Milanese Brigantine, which is the best Armor in the game. Together the whole set goes beyond the 10000 Groschen, so it is a great reward after so much going around delivering letters.

Make sure Myribor survives the fight to claim an extra 150 Groschen and some Speech and Scholarship experience, and that will be the end of the Post Scriptum Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
