How To Start Moonshine Jamboree

Moonshine Jamboree Event Location

Moonshine Jamboree is one of Fallout 76’s many public events. Three times an hour, a random public event will trigger. The times for these are on the hour, twenty minutes past the hour, and twenty minutes to the hour. There’s no way of predicting which event will trigger. It mostly comes down to chance. However, there is something that players can do to help increase their odds of finding a particular event.

When a public event pops up, if it’s not the one that you want, you can hop to a new server. While there’s no way of guaranteeing that you’ll find a server with Moonshine Jamboree active, the chances are dramatically increased when you hop from server to server. Also, Moonshine Jamboree takes quite a while to complete, so there’s usually enough time for players to jump servers three or four times whenever a public event pops up.

When you find a server where Moonshine Jamboree is the active event, you’ll need to travel to Sunday Brother’s Cabin and speak to Moonshiner Ned to start the event. After speaking to Moonshiner Ned, you’ll need to wait a minute before you’ll be prompted to light the Jamboree Fire. Upon lighting the fire, the event will begin, and enemies will start coming in thick and fast.

How To Complete Moonshine Jamboree

Moonshine Jamboree Still

The event itself is pretty simple. You’ll need to defend three still against four waves of enemies. Each wave lasts for two minutes. During the waves, there will be lots of Acidic Gulpers that spawn. Acidic Gulpers, once killed, can be looted for Acidic Gulper Venom. This venom needs to be deposited in the bathtub inside the main building. To complete the event, you’ll need to keep at least one still functional and deposit a total of 30 Gulper Venom in the bathtub.

Defending the still is easier said than done. Enemies such as Gulpers, Anglers, and Ghouls will keep spawning. These creatures will head straight for the nearest still and attack it. While the stills have plenty of HP, if they aren’t being defended by players, they’ll quickly get destroyed.

Each round spawns more enemies, with the wave being a constant barrage of tough enemies. It can be difficult to keep things under control. However, if there are enough players in attendance, then you can split into small groups and defend on still instead of having to jump from still to still.

Provided that at least one still makes it to the end of the event, you’ll be rewarded. However, the more stills that remain intact, the better the rewards. Also, while you need to put a minimum of 30 Acidic Gulper Venom in the bathtub, if you can put 60 venom in the tub, then you’ll gain some additional rewards at the end of the event.

Tips For Completing Moonshine Jamboree

Moonshine Jambnoree Bathtub

As mentioned, this is one of the more difficult public events in Fallout 76. That said, there are a few things you can do to help make things much easier. First, be sure to wait before starting the event. When the event pops up on the map, some players might need to finish what they are doing before they can join. It’s important to keep this in mind. If you head straight to the event location and start it immediately, then other players might not be able to join before the enemies start spawning. Be sure to wait at least two minutes before speaking to Moonshine Ned to allow the players to make their way to Sunday Brother’s Cabin.

The next thing you can do is invest a few points in Funky Duds. The Acidic Gulpers release a toxic gas that hurts nearby players. Funky Duds give players some extra resistance to poison damage when wearing a full set of matching armor. Also, when it comes to armor, be sure to wear a full set of Power Armor. Power Armor typically offers players a pretty decent resistance to poison damage. Combining Funky Duds with a full set of Power Armor is a great way to minimize the amount of damage you’ll take from the toxic gas.

Use a weapon that does area damage. Enemies come in from all over the place. It’s almost impossible to keep track of things. Using V.A.T.S. in Moonshine Jamboree can be pretty tricky. Instead, be sure to use a weapon that does area damage. By doing this, you don’t need to focus too much on being accurate with your shots. Instead, you can just fire in the general area of enemies to take them down. Since the stills can only be damaged by enemies, you don’t need to worry about causing any damage by accidentally shooting them.

At the end of the event, pick up all the loot. You will end up very over-encumbered, but there’s a trader just north of the event location. You can sell all of the unwanted loot there for some extra Caps. Before selling anything to the trader, you should cook up all the meat you looted from the downed enemies. This will give you lots of extra XP.

The last tip is to wait for the wave to end before looting and filling the bathtub. Between each round, there is a brief cooldown period that gives you the chance to pick up all of the Acidic Gulper Venom and drop it off in the bathtub. You can also use this cooldown period to repair your weapons and reposition yourself so that you are ready for the next wave.

Why Moonshine Jamboree Is Worth Doing

Mortimer At The Crater Core

Moonshine Jamboree is one of the best events in Fallout 76 for gaining XP. Because of the sheer number of enemies that spawn, you can rack up tens of thousands of XP during the event. This is not only good for leveling up, but it also helps you to progress through the latest Season’s reward table. Be sure to pop open a couple of Lunchboxes before starting the event to really maximize your XP gain.

The other reason why this event is worth doing is because of its Raider Reputation. Earning Settler and Raider Reputation is a very time-consuming process. Each rank of the reputation system unlocks new items that players can purchase using Gold Bullion. Since this event helps to boost Raider Reputation, completing it can help grant you access to better goods available from Mortimer inside the Crater Core.
