Gift cards for digital storefronts feel increasingly outdated, but they’re good for at least one thing: snapping ’em up when they’re discounted. Amazon just kicked off its Big Smile sale in Australia, and among the highlights are discounts on its PlayStation Store gift cards. Most price tiers ranging AU$10 through to AU$135 can be had with a 15 percent discount, so obviously the higher you go, the better the deal will be.
The AU$135 voucher, which is currently available for AU$114.75, is a great offer if you’ve got your eyes on any recent blockbuster games, which usually go for around AU$115 on the PlayStation Store. Relevant case in point: Monster Hunter Wilds sells for AU$114.95 on PSN. If you nab the discounted AU$135 card, you’ll be able to buy Monster Hunter Wilds and have AU$20.05 left to spend in your account (you’ll also be saving 20 cents on the total: bonus!).
Some other full-price blockbusters on PSN that might entice you include WWE 2K25, PGA Tour 2K25 and Black Myth: Wukong. Or you could preorder Assassin’s Creed Shadows, for instance.
Other price tiers are discounted on Amazon too:
Of course, this might only make sense if you’ve moved completely to digital: it’s usually pretty easy to find boxed copies of blockbusters for a lot less than RRP, usually on Amazon itself. For example, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is AU$89 for a boxed PS5 copy on Amazon, whereas digital it’ll set you back AU$109.95. Is the digital future grim? Sometimes.
We’ll be sifting through the Big Smile sale a bit more in an effort to surface some notable deals, but in the meantime, these game discounts are mighty tempting, and you can currently get the PS5 Slim bundle with Astro Bot for an astounding AU$679.
