The Best Mounts In Palworld

The Best Mounts In Palworld

Palworld had the brilliant idea to combine the well-known monster-taming genre with base building and survival. Since its launch, the game has been immensely rewarded for its innovation despite a few controversies here and there.

Palworld: 10 Best Passive Skills

Passive Skills give your Pals different benefits in many areas. Here you’ll find which are the most useful and for what Pals.

One thing that makes Palworld special and unique is the open world and the ability to explore it with the help of your monsters. Quite early on, you learn how to mount specific Pals and ride them to wherever you want. This simple detail is extremely fun and you’ll never want to walk anywhere again.

Updated on March 7, 2025, by Mohamed El Ouardighi: With each Palworld update introducing new pals, we make sure to keep our list updated so you can always find the best mount to suit your needs.

Fenglope

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 26

Regular Speed

750

Sprint Speed

1050

Element

Neutral

Fenglope is yet another great mount that you can hop on to dart through the beautiful plains of Palworld. You can mount it around the mid-game, and unfortunately, it’s somewhat outclassed by flying mounts when you do get access to its saddle.

Still, Fenglope is a great option to use on land and is among the best running mounts you can get. Its relatively late availability hurts its ranking, but it manages to creep into the top ten. At least you’ll look absolutely fabulous on top of this majestic creature as you run across the land.

Direhowl

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 9

Regular Speed

800

Sprint Speed

1050

Element

Neutral

Direhowl is a relatively early Pal you can capture. However, despite its status as an early-game Pal, it’s extremely useful throughout almost the whole game. Direhowl is the fastest Pal you can ride until you encounter some of the more exotic ones out there.

Alright, who’s next?

While Direhowl is not the strongest battler, and its Partner Skill is nothing to write home about, its extreme speed allows you to zap through the whole map. Direhowl’s utility, despite its availability, makes it absolutely worthy of being on this list.

Starryon

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 57

Regular Speed

900

Sprint Speed

1200

Element

Dark

Starryon is one of the newest pals introduced with the Feybreak update, and it just might be the best mount for nighttime travel. Its partner skill boosts movement speed while mounted at night, making it an ideal choice for covering ground quickly after dark. However, if you’re thinking of assigning it to base work, don’t expect much Starryon only has level two Gathering, so it won’t be very efficient.

If you’re looking to catch this nocturnal mount, head to the lake area in the Frozen Forest on Feybreak Island—but make sure to go at night, as that’s when it appears.

Azurmane

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 56

Regular Speed

900

Sprint Speed

1260

Element

Electric

Azurmane isn’t just one of the best Electric-type pals in Palworld – it’s also one of the good ground mounts you can get. Its companion skill gives it a powerful dash that not only deals damage but also covers long distances while restoring stamina, making it perfect for extended travel. This ability alone makes Azurmane one of the most efficient and reliable mounts in the game. With the right passive skills, like Swift and Eternal Engine, it can easily rank among the top five ground mounts.

If you want to add Azurmane to your roster, you can find it roaming north of the Oculus Gate Tower. Alternatively, you can breed one using pals like Bellanoir and Loupmoon Cryst or Surfent and Faleris Aqua.

Beakon

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 34

Regular Speed

800

Sprint Speed

1300

Element

Electric

Our first flying mount on this list is Beakon. To be clear, flying mounts are almost always better than land mounts in Palworld. The ability to not care about terrain or landmarks and just fly to where you need to go directly is extremely useful while exploring.

Ground travel is for casuals.

Luckily, Beakon is more than just a flying mount. To begin with, its Electric element is really good, as it counters the common Water pals, and there are not many Electric Pals to begin with. Add to that amazing traversal speed, great stats, and amazing skills, and Beakon ends up being an amazing mount.

7

Pyrin & Pyrin Noct

Pyrin in the wild in Palworld

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 30 & 33

Regular Speed

850

Sprint Speed

1300

Element

Fire & Dark/Fire

Both Pyrin and Pyrin Noct are among the best land mounts you can get in the whole game. To begin with, their traversal speed rivals that of the flying Beakon. Not only that, Pyrin is an amazing attacker with lovely stats and a decent skill pool. What pushes them into actual greatness is their element, though.

Fire is undoubtedly the strongest element in the game due to having two elements it is strong against, as opposed to one. This in itself is enough to make any fire element Pal worthy of a top-ten list. Thus, as they are both amazing battlers and great mounts, Pyrin and Pyrin Noct are great options no matter how far you are in the game.

You can get Pyrin Noct either from a Large Scorching Egg or via breeding.

6

Shadowbeak

Palworld: Shadowbeak flying through the air under the sun

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 47

Regular Speed

850

Sprint Speed

1200

Element

Dark

Speaking of amazing elements, Dark is one of the best in the game, alongside Fire and Dragon. Dark’s strength stems from its dominance over Neutral Pals, which there is an abundance of in the game. Luckily, Shadowbeak is not just a great offensive threat, but a great ride too.

Shadowbeak, while not as fast or durable as some of the other mounts on this list, is a great tanky option in the late game. This is especially useful when you’re going against powerful bosses that dish out incredible amounts of damage with each attack.

You can still use your glider if you dismount your Pal mid-air since you have a separate Stamina from your Pals.

5

Faleris

Faleris Fire Pal Palworld

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 38

Regular Speed

1000

Sprint Speed

1400

Element

Fire

Another member of the Fire Element family that is even better than it is in a vacuum due to being Fire is Faleris. On top of having the best Element in the whole game, Faleris is also extremely fast. There are two types of mounts in Palworld, the traversal and the combat mount.

Faleris definitely tends towards a traversal mount, one which you hop on to reach your destination as fast as possible. However, that doesn’t mean it cannot hold its own in battle. Faleris has respectable stats, great skills, and, of course, the Fire element.

4

Ragnahawk

A Ragnahawk is shown in Paldeck in Palworld.

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 37

Regular Speed

800

Sprint Speed

1300

Element

Fire

This flying Fire Pal is still in a very decent movement speed tier and has the combat capabilities to elevate that. In fact, Ragnahawk is slower than Faleris both in regular traversal and sprint, so its higher ranking is purely due to its raw power in combat.

Ragnahawk, just like Shadowbeak, is semi-tanky and has an amazing element to scorch through problematic encounters. Its saddle is unlocked a bit late, which is a shame, but it’s absolutely worth it once you reach that point. At least until you get one of the highest-tier mounts.

3

Necromus

Palworld: Necromus looking menacing

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 49

Regular Speed

900

Sprint Speed

1600

Element

Dark

Necromus is a Legendary Pal, and it shows. To begin with, this edgy centaur is an amazing battler, having the Dark Element and an amazing stat line. That’s only part of Necromus’ greatness, though. Including stats, Partner Skills, and Active Skills, Necromus has some of the best of all you can wish for.

It is arguably the best ground mount in the whole game that you can capture, albeit with lots of effort, and while there are a few alternatives to it, such a great element combined with blinding speeds lands Necromus so high on this list. Unfortunately, though, The Dark Knight of Legend lacks one thing that other Pals have: Wings.

2

Frostallion

Palworld: Frostallion boss amidst glaciers with its wings open

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 48

Regular Speed

1000

Sprint Speed

1500

Element

Ice

Another Legendary Pal that just so happens to be a perfect mount is Frostallion. This icy pegasus rivals the breakneck speed of Necromus and can also fly! We’ve mentioned how flying mounts tend to be better in general, and that gives Frostallion the edge. Luckily, Frostallion is much more than a speedy steed.

Frostallion is an Ice Pal, which means it’s strong against the ever-so-powerful Dragon Pals. On top of that, Frostallion has great skills and very respectable stats. Add in the fact that Frostallion can get you where you need to be in no time, and it ends up being one of the best mounts in the game. It looks amazing, too, which is always a big plus.

1

Jetragon

Jetragon using an attack in Palworld

Saddle Available At:

Lvl 50

Regular Speed

1700

Sprint Speed

3300

Element

Dragon

Jetragon, without competition, is the best mount you can get in Palworld. While getting it and saddling up can be somewhat of a long-term journey, it’s absolutely worth it. Jetragon practically doubles both the regular and sprint speed of Frostallion, which is hard to believe. Not only that, though, but Jetragon is also strong as can be.

This Pal is not only the best mount in the game, it’s arguably the best Pal in the game overall. It has the amazing Dragon element, can rain literal missiles on your enemies, and has the stats of a real powerhouse. This is the pinnacle of mounts in Palworld, and you’ll never want to hop on another one once you experience it.
