Bit Reactor’s period of radio silence is now finally nearing its end, with the developer being set to reveal its debut title in mid-April. Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Game Should Be Nearing Completion
Although Bit Reactor’s Star Wars strategy game was announced in early 2022, the project is believed to have already been in the works since late 2021, when the company itself was founded. Since modern AAA development cycles are approximately five years long on average nowadays, the game is now ostensibly nearing completion as of early 2025. While Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 will offer the first look at the upcoming title, the fact that the game is now ready to be showcased suggests it could also be featured on Star Wars Day a month later.
In a June 2024 interview with PC Gamer, Bit Reactor co-founder Greg Foertsch spoke about the studio’s Star Wars strategy title in fairly ambitious terms, stating that the developer is aiming to deliver a game that’s both complex and accessible, while also boasting high production values. Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Strategy Game Is of the Turn-Based Variety
The Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 event schedule mentions that Bit Reactor’s upcoming title is of the turn-based variety, which is something that was previously implied but never outright confirmed. EA’s Respawn Entertainment is assisting with the project in a publisher capacity. After releasing two Star Wars Jedi games, Respawn reportedly had a Mandalorian FPS canceled in early 2024 amid a wave of cost-cutting efforts at EA. Bit Reactor labeled that Star Wars project cancelation as a “difficult” moment for the industry, but said its own game was unaffected by the move.
