Pokemon Fan Designs Pre-Evolution for Brute Bonnet

One creative fan of the Pokemon franchise has created the cutest custom Paradox Pokemon of them all with a baby pre-evolutionary form of Brute Bonnet, one of several Paradox Pokemon exclusive to the Pokemon Scarlet version. Both baby Pokemon and Paradox Pokemon remain wildly popular among the Pokemon community, but this fan-made design is truly made from the best of both worlds.

Though they’ve only appeared in one core series game to date, Paradox Pokemon have proven to be one of the most popular additions to the series brought by the Gen 9 games. Although players won’t encounter them until they’ve progressed far into the game, Paradox Pokemon act as a new breed of variants based on existing Pokemon. These strange critters are aesthetically themed around archetypes often associated with the past and future, with different Paradox Pokemon appearing depending on the version.

Brute Bonnet is one of the Scarlet-exclusive Paradox Pokemon, and is based on the Pokemon Amoonguss. One custom creature design recently shared by the fan known as HertzBurst imagines what Foongus, the evolutionary predecessor to Amoonguss, would look like as a Paradox Pokemon. This adorable concept effectively presents what the pre-evolution of Brute Bonnet might look like and has been named Crude Bonnet by its creator. The design is shown off not just via a high-quality piece of fan art but with a 3D render that looks like it could be straight out of the game, too.

Pokemon Fans Want To See New Baby Pokemon in Future Titles

Just like Brute Bonnet, this little critter would also be Grass and Dark-type while also featuring the Protosynthesis ability. Although any typical Amoonguss can be bred to produce Pokemon eggs that hatch into Foongus, it doesn’t quite work this way with its evolutionary counterpart. Though Paradox Pokemon are understood to be regular Pokemon from certain alternate universes, as opposed to originating from past or future periods, they still cannot be bred or evolved in-game. While it’s unclear whether there’s actually a lore reason for this, it unfortunately means fans aren’t able to hatch and raise a Paradox Foongus in any official capacity.

But just by their cute appearances alone, it’s no surprise that baby Pokemon have long been deeply beloved by many in the franchise’s community. Pre-evolutionary Pokemon tend to appeal to a specific portion of the series’ fanbase, offering little in the way of battle prowess but encouraging a more lighthearted playstyle that requires players to spend quality time with their young Pokemon to help them grow. Plenty of fan-made Pokemon designs focus on imagining what new baby Pokemon would look like, although many fans are hoping that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will introduce some new pre-evolutions when it releases later this year.
