There are a lot of events that take place in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Here, you can learn about them all!

But don’t worry—you’ll get to explore them all eventually! For now, just enjoy the journey and soak in the cozy vibes. But hey, have you ever wondered which regions are the absolute best? In this list, we’ve ranked every single region in the game, from the sunniest beaches to the spookiest swamps!

9

Icy Peak

Chill Vibes & Frosty Adventures

Icy Peak is a region located northeast of Gemstone Mountain, and it remains inaccessible for quite some time. To unlock this area, you’ll need to complete the A Challenging Rescue quest given by TOPHAT. That being said, compared to other regions, there isn’t much of note here — at least not at first.

However, after completing the Mind the Gap quest from Big Challenges, Big Challenges and My Melody will work together to build a bridge to Blizzard Peak, allowing you to reach Snow Village. At that point, Icy Peak won’t feel like such a small area anymore — and you might even want to warm yourself up for a bit by the cozy bonfire in Snow Village’s chilly atmosphere.

8

Mount Hothead

Hotter Than A Fresh-Baked Pizza!

As the name suggests, Mount Hothead is an island with a massive — and active — volcano. It would be nice to say no one lives here, but that’s not the case, as Retsuko spends most of her time in this region. You can reach Mount Hothead fairly early, and you’ll be able to explore if you have the flipper or have completed the A Zipline Adventure quest.

Every crystal brings a new adventure!

That said, aside from the volcano, Mount Hothead isn’t the liveliest region. Red Hot Ruins offers some fun puzzles, and the Hot Springs is easily the most relaxing spot. There’s also a pizza oven on Mount Hothead — thanks to the volcano right next to it, you won’t need anything extra to heat it up!

7

Merry Meadow

Where Flowers Bloom & Secrets Loom!

Merry Meadow is a hidden gem you won’t spot on your map right away. To get there, you’ll need to complete a bunch of quests, then slip behind the waterfall between Gemstone Mountain and Mount Hothead. It’s a bright, flowery paradise with ponds, greenery, and a super cozy vibe. But — plot twist — you can’t explore all of it at first.

You’ll need to hunt down giant seeds, plant them in just the right spots, and unlock more areas of the meadow. You’ll also meet the super sweet Wish me Mell here. It’s the greenest spot in the whole game, perfect for a chill stroll — though a bit more forest magic or surprises would’ve made it even better!

6

City Town

The Cutest Concrete Jungle You’ll Ever See!

Friendship Island is mostly made up of islands, bringing life to the place with you and other cute Hello Kitty characters. But are you ready for somewhere even more lively? If you’re looking to leave island life behind for a while, City Town is the place for you. The good news? You don’t have to do too many quests to get there.

The bad news? It’s not available on the Steam version of the game… yet. But even for a city, it’s super colorful, and you’ll find the Imagination Cafe, where you can make delicious treats like mochi, dango, boba, and onigiri. Plus, the Sewers feature fun puzzles! Oh, and you’ll meet Usahana here too! Instead of visitor cabins, guests stay at the equally vibrant Rainbow Tower!

5

Rainbow Reef

Dive Into A Sea Of Colors!

Rainbow Reef is right under your nose, but you’ll need a few tools to reach it. First, grab a flipper to swim, but that’s not enough. You’ll also need a snorkel to explore the underwater wonders—and once you do, you’ll see why it’s called Rainbow Reef. It’s a super colorful place, and swimming around is an absolute blast.

While most of it isn’t packed with anything too special, it’s still totally worth the visit. Oh, and Hangyodon’s stand-up comedy club is here too! Plus, later in the game, when you unlock the Mermaidifier, your character and friends can transform into mermaids, making swimming through this vibrant spot even more fun!

4

Spooky Swamp

Halloween Forever

Spooky Swamp is one of the most thematically intriguing areas, with its endless Halloween vibes! A swampy area filled with a ghost tour ride, a haunted mansion, and a witch hut where you can make potions—what’s not to love? It’s also the first place you unlock after Seaside Resort.

You’ll meet two very different characters here, Kuromi and Keroppi, who make it even more interesting. In other games, a spooky swamp might feel dark or creepy, but not here! Thanks to the Nature Preserve, you can create a little ecosystem with critters you find around the swamp, turning this eerie place into a fun little hobby spot!

3

Cloud Islands

A Sky Full of Magic & Wonder

Every time you grab a Star Fragment, those two adorable little angel-like characters show up—yep, that’s Kiki and Lala, the Twin Stars! Ever wondered where they live? Welcome to Cloud Island, a dreamy place floating high above the sky. It’s like stepping into a piece of heaven! But just like in Merry Meadow, not every spot is open right away.

To unlock the other sky islands, you’ll need to complete a few quests. Getting around is part of the fun—you’ll ride fluffy cloud-shaped transports over rainbows! Cloud Island also has fun spots like the Cloud Island Ponds and the Critter Corral. It’s not the easiest place to reach, but it’s worth every step (or float)!

2

Gemstone Mountain

Old West Charm Meets Sparkling Fun

Gemstone Mountain might just be the biggest region in the whole game—though Rainbow Reef could give it a run for its money! With its old west vibe, this place might seem empty at first glance, but there’s plenty to discover. This is where you meet Pompompurin and Pekkle, both with some super fun quests.

Later, you’ll stumble into the sparkling Crystal Caverns, where you can collect Fizzy Crystals—essential for making soda. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, the “Restore The Oasis” quest lets you turn part of this dry land into a lush oasis! Add in some cute mini-games and evening dance parties at the Dance Hall (hosted by none other than Pekkle), and this place is full of surprises.

1

Seaside Resort

First Stop: Paradise!

While every region in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is charming, Seaside Resort holds a special place—it’s the very first area you and your friends set foot on! It’s home to key characters like My Melody, Badtz-maru, and Tuxedosam, all running their adorable little shops. Most of the events and activities kick off right here, making this lively spot the heart of the island.

If someone asked what to pack for a tropical getaway, Seaside Resort itself would be the answer! With its sunny beaches, cute northern islets, and warm welcoming vibe, it feels less like a game and more like a mini vacation. It’s the perfect first stop, giving new players a warm hug the moment they arrive.
