An Easter egg from World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery appears in Undermine, the new zone from The War Within Patch 11.1, Undermine(d).
Now, it seems like Marksmanship Hunters may be getting at least one new Glyph to customize their Spotting Eagle. World of Warcraft recently revealed Patch 11.1.5 and began testing it on the Public Test Realm. While combing the files for new features, WoW content creator MrGM discovered an effect called Glyph of the Strix that transforms the Spotting Eagle into a Spotting Owl. While there are currently no models or items associated with this customization, there is a good chance Hunters will be able to obtain it somehow in the next update.
New Spotter Eagle Marksmanship Hunter Glyph in WoW Patch 11.1.5
This new Glyph would be a big deal for a lot of Hunters. One of the biggest draws to the Hunter class in World of Warcraft is the ability to tame and use whatever pets they want, so being forced to use the Spotting Eagle while playing Marksmanship was disappointing for many players who would prefer to choose which companions they might travel with. World of Warcraft has already given these characters the option to use their Hunter pets again after almost removing them from the Marksmanship specialization completely in Patch 11.1, so this Glyph would be another step in the right direction for the class’ customization.
It is important to remember that this Glyph has not officially appeared in the PTR yet, so it could change or appear in a later update. Even so, the Glyph of the Strix is probably coming eventually, and most likely in Patch 11.1.5, if not soon after.
Many fans hope this Glyph is the first of many introduced for the Hunter after its rework. Beyond additional options for the Spotting Eagle, many players want customization options for the Pack Leader Hero Talent, whose Patch 11.1 overhaul has it summoning a generic bear, wyvern, and boar. Adding new ways for Hunters to choose the pets that join them in battle is an easy way for World of Warcraft to fulfill their class fantasy, so hopefully, the Glyph of the Strix is only the tip of the iceberg.
