The Significance of the Jeju Island Raid
An Alarming Threat
Jeju Island has been inhabited by a species of magical beasts that resemble ants. Ever since their appearance, the ants started preying on humans. Various Hunters were sent to deal with the hazard, but they failed, leading to countless deaths and even the retirement of Hunters like Min Byung-Gu.
Three failed raids forced South Korea to give up on Jeju Island. But as time has passed, these ants have evolved. Now being capable of flight, if they are not stopped they will soon reach the mainland and cause even greater tragedies.
A Crucial Partnership
Dealing with the ants over the years has greatly reduced South Korea’s firepower. They had lost multiple S-Rank Hunters, making them incapable of fighting the threat alone. Japan’s offer to help has made them much stronger. Japan’s Draw Sword Guild alone contributed 10 S-Rank Hunters. Their combined forces total to 16 S-Rank Hunters, making them much stronger and potentially capable of completing the raid.
Severe Consequences
It would be an understatement to say everything is on the line during the Raid. Both countries have sent the majority of their strongest Hunters, and if they fail, the countries will take a major hit. The death of so many S-Rank Hunters will make the two countries infinitely weaker, and they’ll become unable to defend themselves from higher-level threats like the ants. The loss of influential figures like Choi Jong-In and Goto Ryuji will also disrupt the societal order.
If we don’t pull this off, our whole country could be wiped off the map.

Why the Jeju Island Raid Might Fail
The Appearance of Ant King
The Raid Party seemed to be doing well until the appearance of the Ant King. It has already slain a Japanese S-Rank Hunter in seconds. Such a feat is only attainable by a formidable foe, suggesting that the Ant King itself is easily an S-Rank boss. It is unsure if the combined forces can defeat such an enemy and even if they do, it won’t be easy. We are bound to see many other S-Rank Hunters lose their lives as the Raid continues.

Jin-Woo’s Absence
Without a doubt, Jin-Woo is the strongest Hunter available in both countries. His ability to summon powerful shadows might make him even stronger than the combined strengths of the Raid Party. But he decided to step out of the Raid to look after his mother. He assumed the Raid Party is already strong enough to deal with the dangers of Jeju Island. But the appearance of the Ant King might prove him wrong.
