Focus Mode is Monster Hunter Wilds’ biggest new addition. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Fighting these monsters is unique challenge compared to their ordinary counterparts, and they come with some unique items to make that challenge worth it. Wyverian Bloodstones are just one of those items, and are an incredibly useful item once you put them to use. Now let’s see just how you get them.
Where To Get Wyverian Bloodstones
There are so many materials for you to manage once you reach High Rank that you might miss you’ve even picked up Wyverian Bloodstones. The game doesn’t ever give you an explanation for them, nor does it mention that they come from Tempered monsters. Wyverian Bloodstones, all of the different versions of them, can only be acquired from Tempered monsters.
Here’s each type of Wyverian Bloodstone, and the rarity of Tempered monster you must hunt to get them:
Item Name |
Level of Monster |
---|---|
Wyverian Bloodstone Shard |
Five-Star hunts. |
Wyverian Bloodstone (S) |
|
Wyverian Bloodstone |
Six-Star hunts. |
Wyverian Bloodstone (L) |
Six and seven-star hunts. |
Wyverian Bloodstone Chunk |
Seven-star and above hunts. |
Hunter Symbols are also exclusive to Tempered monster hunts, so you can grab two items with one hunt.
To get a Wyverian Bloodstone, you must destroy Tempered Wounds. These are different from regular wounds, and as you probably guessed, only appear on Tempered monsters. These monsters are covered in scars before you ever hunt them, and this indicates where they were damaged in the past. As such, continually attacking these areas will reveal a Tempered Wound.
Regular wounds can also appear on Tempered monsters, though this will only drop regular wound destroyed rewards, rather than Bloodstones. A Tempered Wound is shown in blue rather than red, so you can’t miss it. So make sure you’re attacking those old scars to get as many Bloodstones as you can.
Uses For Wyverian Bloodstones
After showing even the most Tempered of monsters that they’re no match for a trained hunter, you should have lots of Wyverian Bloodstones to use. These are used in Wyverian Melding back in Suja. They can only be used to create relics, the various pieces used for making Artian weapons.
Each type of Wyverian Bloodstone has a different value in melding relics, which you can see below:
Item |
Value |
---|---|
Wyverian Bloodstone Shard |
1 |
Wyverian Bloodstone (S) |
5 |
Wyverian Bloodstone |
20 |
Wyverian Bloodstone (L) |
60 |
Wyverian Bloodstone Chunk |
240 |
A single Bloodstone Chunk is enough to make two relics, and any old relics you got from hunting Tempered monsters can be used up in melding as well. It’s an endless grind, but it’s honest work. If you don’t plan on making use of Artian weapons, then you can always sell them for some extra Zenny.
