Wizardry Variants Daphne is a complex world filled with unique surprises. As you encounter numerous personalities and challenges, the game will offer a variety of ways of dealing with everything. There are spells to master, allies to make, and many secrets to unveil.

While RPG veterans will find a lot of familiar mechanics in the game, newcomers will be introduced to various concepts that are unique to the game. Between combat strategies and stats management, a few tips and tricks can be useful to keep in mind as you journey through this realm.

Create A Neutral Character

At the beginning of your adventure in Wizardry Variants Daphne, you’ll be asked various questions that judge your character. Your idea of right or wrong will be interpreted through these questions, and by the end of it, you’ll earn a personality that’s the sum of your choices.

When answering questions, there’s either a red, yellow, or blue light that glows indicating what kind of personality you’re going to build.

• Red is for an evil personality trait.
• Blue is for a good one.
• Yellow is for a neutral trait

By having a neutral personality, you will have more flexibility when forming a party and equipping gear. This personality allows you to easily team up with other personalities who may be on the more lawful or chaotic side.

These choices cannot be reversed, so think carefully before proceeding with the questions.

Grind XP Through Auto Move In Dungeons

After your first dungeon run, you can trigger it over and over again, exploring the Abyss as often as you’d like to. If you want to do this faster, set things to Auto Move with enhanced speed, so the game can predict and randomize your exploration for you.

Refer to the mini-map in the top-right corner of the screen to get a better sense of direction. You can also select where you wish to Auto Move this way. Each run will feel randomized and optimized without hindering the sense of curiosity that comes with your adventure.

When opening chests, you’ll sometimes encounter a mini-game where you must time your movement. This will allow you to open the chest without any severe consequences. However, if you’re not feeling confident about it, you can ask a party member to do this instead.

Try to fix or rebuild things (or people) with your right arm’s ability. It can help you revive fallen soldiers or restore certain artifacts.

Reverse Bones And Equipment

As you explore dungeons, you’ll come across various kinds of loot. Often you can restore equipment found in a dungeon, or simply find new equipment after certain encounters. You’ll have to assign these items to your party members (or yourself).

Often, you will find bones that can be reversed. This way, you will be able to gain new allies. To do so, simply head to the Ruin. Once you’re there, you can bring these bones back to life and meet your new companions.

You can decide which bones are the most useful for you by paying attention to which class of character you’re keeping in your party. A good team composition includes a Knight worthy of defending a vital character such as a Priest—someone who can keep everyone in the party alive.

Inherit Skills From Allies

A big part of leveling your party members’ skills is relying on characters you aren’t using. These characters provide some benefit since your party members can inherit skills from them.

You can do this from the Training Room in the Adventurer’s Guild. Once here, browse through the section where you can inherit skills, and select the allies that matter to you most.

Next, look for characters you aren’t using and inherit their skills for the ones that are an active part of your party.

For example, Eckart’s high resistance and damage can benefit from another character of similar class and stats.

Distribute Stats Based On The Character

When you add an ally to your party, you’ll be asked to distribute points across a variety of stats based on the class and race of the character. Usually, you want to follow this pattern:

• Thief: DEX / SPD / STR / LUK
• Knight: VIT / PIE
• Fighter: STR / DEX / VIT
• Priest: PIE / VIT
• Mage: IQ / SPD / VIT

These stats will blend with the specific class’ playstyle, letting you improve your combat encounters during each run.

Use Inns Effectively

Once you’re out of the battle, make sure you visit the Inn. This will help your allies rest and level up. There are also important details to be acquired, so make sure you talk to everyone you can at the Inn.

However, you’ll be asked to choose the kind of Inn you’ll be investing in, and there are four choices, ranging from worst to best.

If you have no gold to spare, visit the Temple to resurrect any fallen allies instead of sleeping in a Stable.

Keep The Combat Dynamic

Each character’s contribution to an encounter can vary based on when you use them, especially if you haven’t turned auto-battling on. If you’re starting a fight, send in your Knight or Fighter first to deal some heavy damage. If you’re defending, keep your Priest ready for healing spells.

Next, mix-and-match your equipment. Different weapons have unique effects based on their hidden attributes. For instance, elemental effects and increased critical hit rates can be highly effective during boss fights. So, switch weapons between your characters to try this out.

Doing this will keep a healthy shuffle when fighting different enemies within the same group. For example, a goblin gang can have two small goblins and one boss—blending characters and weapons results in a safer fight than relying on one ally to do everything.

Keep an eye on any active status effects. For instance, if your character is paralyzed, they won’t be able to do much in battle.

Identify Allies And Items Worth Getting

As a rule of thumb, you want to sell one-star equipment and consider keeping the others if they can benefit anyone in your party. Usually, great equipment is three stars and above. For instance, certain stats like Divine Power may only fit certain classes of characters.

Through NPC interactions, you’ll have a chance to obtain new allies and gear. However, you’ll have to choose whether you let go of them or continue your journey with them. Think of what your team needs at the moment, and make a choice accordingly.

Early in the game, you will come across a man who will sell you bones. Here, Adam is a great choice to begin with. Although a bit brash in his tone, he is a worthy companion in battle if you’re just starting your journey.
