The upcoming update is also coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna, although last-generation consoles won’t get access to Dual Front, the previously leaked 6v6 mode for Rainbow Six Siege X. Described as a permanent and ever-evolving addition to the game, Dual Front is the highlight of the newly launched closed beta. The mode tasks players with taking over three enemy sectors while defending their own zones on a new map called District.
Rainbow Six Siege X Beta Is Only Available Via Twitch Drops
Participating in the beta requires watching the game’s latest showcase, either via its official Twitch channel or one of the many partnered Rainbow Six Siege streamers. Owning Rainbow Six Siege is not a requirement for participating in the R6 Siege X closed beta.
The ongoing beta includes access to 35 Rainbow Six Siege X operators. Owning the game itself is not a prerequisite for participation, presumably because the hit tactical shooter is going free-to-play with the advent of its upcoming update. That notwithstanding, the Ranked and Siege Cup competitive modes will still be paywalled in Rainbow Six Siege X.
The newly launched closed beta will run for a full week, ending on March 19. Rainbow Six Siege X is then scheduled for an international release on June 10. Ubisoft might also be planning an open beta for spring, but the company has yet to firmly commit to such plans.
