Summary

  • Dracule Mihawk faces Zoro in a manga panel with humor.
  • Zoro’s growth is evident, hinting at a potential final duel.
  • One Piece’s Elbaf arc is praised for its reveals and new characters, potentially besting the current arc.

Dracule Mihawk was the first Shichibukai to be introduced in One Piece. Ever since his debut, he has become one of the most adored characters in the series. Renowned for swordsmanship, Mihawk has been a nuisance to Marines and pirates alike.

Recently, a fan on Reddit submitted the manga panel of Dracule Mihawk facing Roronoa Zoro in East Blue. In the panel, Zoro can be seen using his signature attack, which he used to take down numerous enemies. However, a swordsman of Mihawk’s caliber didn’t need to panic over the attack.

The Jest Came At The Cost Of Dracule Mihawk

Dracule Mihawk vs Zoro in East Blue

The post was obviously made in good humor and meant to poke fun at Dracule Mihawk. The latter was likely shocked by Zoro’s determination and his potential, if anything.

If Oda wanted to convey Mihawk’s panic with the panel’s help, then it can be considered a stroke of genius by the author, since Zoro is supposed to be the Shichibukai’s final opponent. Mihawk being alarmed by the attack could also be taken as a foreshadowing of their final duel toward the end of the series.

Roronoa Zoro has grown a lot since their first encounter, and he will continue to do so until the end of One Piece. The Elbaf arc will pit Zoro against strong enemies whom he must overcome to reach the top.

The Elbaf Arc Will Go Down As One Of The Best Arcs

The Elbaf arc has been off to a flying start. It has massive reveals, including the return of legendary characters. Additionally, several new characters have also made their debut in the arc. Even though the Elbaf arc is far from over, there is a good chance that it will supplant the Egghead arc as the best arc in the Final Saga of One Piece.

Currently, the One Piece manga is focused on the Elbaf arc; meanwhile, the anime is adapting the Egghead arc. The anime went on a break in 2024 because the studio did not want to compromise the quality of the animation.

After all, One Piece was releasing insanely good episodes every week. So, it is safe to say that the break was warranted and that everyone working on the anime deserved to rest. Thankfully, the anime will return with the next phase of the Egghead arc in April 2025.

One Piece Live Action Season 2 Will Release In 2025

Eiichiro Oda Confirms One Piece X Lego Collaboration-1

Aside from the anime, One Piece will be treated to another season of the live-action series in 2025. It has already been confirmed that filming has ended, so it’s only a matter of time before a release date is announced. The new season will see the Straw Hats start their adventure in the Grand Line.

One Piece Live Action is collaborating with Lego, a company that is renowned for producing complex sets. The collaboration has a lot of potential, and it could yield sets like Going Merry, Luffy’s final battle against Crocodile in Alabasta, and even Luffy and Zoro meeting for the first time. The potential is endless, and it’s up to Lego not to let it go to waste.

One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
