- Shamrock and Holy Knights will soon counterattack the Revolutionary Army, initiating the massive war.
One Piece is currently in the Final Saga and fans know that this is the part of the story that Oda intends to deliver upon the most. In fact, it is the part of the story that Oda wants to draw the most by his own admission. Oda has wanted to draw the final saga of One Piece for over 20 years now, but getting to this point was incredibly difficult if he wanted to deliver a consistently incredible story.

A new Dragon devil fruit has been introduced in One Piece. A western dragon in Elbaf, to be specific.
Now, the Final Saga has finally begun and it is here that the biggest of players will start making massive moves, and major wars will finally start to break out. Just as fans got to see the Paramount War before the timeskip of the story, now is the time for the biggest war in the New World so far, and by the looks of it, Oda will switch his attention towards it soon enough.
The Biggest War In The New World So Far Launched By Monkey D. Dragon
- Dragon Declared War On The Celestial Dragons
- The War Has Already Begun
Monkey D. Dragon, the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, is a major player in the Final Saga of One Piece and a character that fans have wanted to see more of for years now. Dragon is extremely important in the story, and that is clear from the fact that Oda introduced him long ago, and at the same time, saved him for the Final Saga. Now that One Piece is in the Final Saga, it is time for Dragon to officially go all-out, especially since he considers his preparations to be complete.
Don’t forget the true goal, Dragon. Even within the Navy, there are good people — Vegapunk
For those who don’t know, Dragon’s aim is to overthrow the Celestial Dragons of the One Piece world by creating a force strong enough to match the World Government’s military. He’s created a massively powerful entity in the Revolutionary Army, which consists of some incredibly strong characters. Using this army, Dragon has now officially declared war on the World Government, and he did so by sending a few of his men to the Holy Land, Marijoa, and there, declaring the biggest war in the New World. For those who don’t remember, Dragon sent Sabo, Morley, Karasu, and Lindbergh to the Holy Land with three missions, all of which were successful. The first one was to free all slaves and rescue Kuma, the second was to destroy their Granaries and food supply, and the third was to destroy the symbol of the Celestial Dragons, the hoof of the dragon, and officially declare war.
All of this has been accomplished now, which means that it is only a matter of time before Oda shifts his focus towards this war. That’s not all. Ever since then, the Revolutionary Army has maintained constant press on the Holy Land by enforcing a powerful siege around it. Any food supply ship that tries to move towards the Red Line to deliver food to the Government is sunk by the Revolutionary Army members, and their pressure has led to the members of the Celestial Dragons to almost starve.
Shamrock’s Return To Marijoa And The Counterattack Of The Celestial Dragons
One Piece Chapter 1140 confirmed to the fans that things aren’t looking good in the Holy Land of Marijoa. There, the Celestial Dragons seem to be starving and there is nothing that’s being done at the moment to prevent it. But, it is only a matter of time before the Government makes their move. Dragon himself is waiting in anticipation for the World Government to respond and he expects them to mobilize the Holy Knights in return. According to Dragon, when the Holy Knights move, that’s when the real war will begin. As seen recently, the Holy Knights serve the role of the main antagonists of Elbaf, and this seems to be the arc where fans will see what they’re truly capable of as fighters.
One thing that motivates me to keep drawing One Piece is that I want to draw the final saga. The final saga will be so amazing that it makes the Marineford arc look like nothing. Marineford arc was just a side trip to me. I didn’t expect it to be so popular. — Oda, 2012.
While three Holy Knights are active in Elbaf, those being Sommers, Gunko, and Killingham, there are more than are most certainly going to be important in this arc, such as Shamrock Figarland, the son of Garling Figarland. As was mentioned previously, Shamrock was summoned back to the Holy Land of Marijoa because of the situation, which means that he must report back immediately and set out on a mission.

This upcoming mission for Shamrock Figarland can only mean one thing. War is upon the Revolutionary Army now. Shamrock Figarland is going back to Marijoa and he will soon be seen in action against the forces of Monkey D. Dragon that are currently maintaining a siege around the Red Port. Shamrock’s goal will be to break the siege and force them to retreat, all the while opening the door for the ships to pass through. In other words, Shamrock will be unleashing his powers soon.
The Massive War Is Finally Underway
Shamrock and the Holy Knights Will Fight The Revolutionary Army
Now, fans might be wondering whether Oda will skip this battle entirely, but that’s likely not the case. Shamrock going back likely gives fans a point of view to follow, and that means he will be featured in the next few segments of the story quite heavily. For those who do not remember, the Final Saga won’t just show the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates, which is something that Oda has confirmed himself. According to him, this part of the story will show the journey of every major in the One Piece world, even aside from the Straw Hats, and that’s important to note here.
I’ve already decided on the last panel and how the last chapter will be. In the final saga, I’ll focus on not only Straw Hats but also on events happening in the whole world. The problem is how many years it will take to start the final saga. — Oda, 1999
As mentioned by Oda himself, it is time for the story to move away from the Straw Hats for a while and focus on what’s happening in the war around Marijoa. By all means, this war has already begun. Dragon drew first blood and now, Shamrock is set to respond since he’s left the country.
It is time for Oda to reveal some other members of the Holy Knights and show to the fans what exactly they’re capable of, and how they’ll be affecting the war that is raging on in the One Piece world as the Straw Hat Pirates continue their fated journey across Elbaf.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1143, is set to be March 23, 2025.
