Two talented fans created an incredibly detailed cosplay of Cody and May, the protagonists of the hit game It Takes Two. Although developer Hazelight Studios has moved on to its most recent co-op title, fans of It Takes Two continue to express their love for the game through fan creations.

Soon after its release in 2021, the co-op title It Takes Two received a high appraisal from both critics and players alike and was even crowned Game of the Year at The Game Awards. The game’s popularity has not dropped either, as It Takes Two sold over 20 million copies in 2024 and was added to PlayStation Plus for its December catalog. It Takes Two is considered one of the best co-op titles of recent years, not only because of its creative gameplay but also for its touching story. Through a video posted on TikTok, Polish cosplayers kanto.cosplay and talenkaa shared their stunning rendition of life-size Cody and May dolls. In It Takes Two, the main characters transform into dolls made from scrap materials like buttons, yarn, and pins. Cody gets turned into a clay doll, while May becomes a wooden doll. To mimic these elements, the cosplayers seemed to have used chunky yarn and ropes around their outfits. They also included giant custom-made buttons and leaves. Both creators used SFX makeup and prosthetics to recreate Cody and May’s irregularly-sized limbs. It Takes Two tells the story of a broken marriage that rebuilds their relationship by working together. Now, these skilled fans have proved that it also takes two to make the perfect cosplay.
