New Defender Rauora
The latest operator added to Rainbow Six Siege is Rauora, a two-armor, two-speed attacker. She excels in both support and map control roles. Her real name is Hāpai Iwini. She is 29 years old, and hails from Christchurch, New Zealand. Rauora is an excellent pick for teams focused on planting the defuser rather than eliminating the entire defending team.

Rauora Weapon Loadout
Rauora might not have the most robust loadout compared to attackers like Hibana or Fuze, but she still offers options that allow you to tailor her to your playstyle.
Primary Weapon
When playing as Rauora, players can choose between two solid primary weapons. The first is the 417 Marksman Rifle, a semi-automatic, high-damage weapon with a 20-round magazine. For those who prefer automatic fire, the M249 Light Machine Gun is a viable option. While it lacks the high damage output of the 417, it compensates with a 100-round magazine, making it ideal for players who favor a “spray and pray” approach.
Secondary Weapon
Rauora’s secondary weapon selection also includes two choices. The first is the newly introduced Reaper MK2, an automatic sidearm with a 34-round magazine. However, its high recoil and mediocre damage output make it a less reliable option. The second choice is the GSH-18 Handgun, a semi-automatic pistol that many Siege veterans will recognize as a dependable backup weapon.

Secondary Gadget
For her secondary gadget, players can choose between two Smoke Grenades or three Breaching Charges. Breaching Charges are only useful for soft destruction, so unless you’re planning to do some map renovation, Smoke Grenades should be the preferred choice — especially since they are crucial for covering the defuser plant.
Recommended Loadout For Rauora
- Primary Weapon: 417 Marksman Rifle
- Secondary Weapon: GSH-18 Handgun
- Secondary Loudout: Smoke Grenade

Rauoro Primary Ability, Explained
Rauora’s primary ability is unlike anything we’ve seen before — at least from an attacker’s perspective. She has access to the D.O.M. Panel Launcher, which fires retractable, bulletproof panels onto doorframes. These panels can be deployed on both small and large doors but cannot be placed on doors already reinforced with a Castle Barricade.
Once deployed, the panel creates a bulletproof barrier that obstructs vision for both attackers and defenders. While it blocks rotations, it can still be opened. The panel features a protected, shootable section that triggers an opening mechanism when interacted with. If an attacker shoots it, the door will open after 1 second. If a defender activates it, the door takes 3 seconds to open.
- The panel will slightly open at the bottom when a drone approaches, allowing it to pass through.
- The panel can be destroyed by explosives, and Oryx can break it using his Dash.
Similar to Lesion’s GU Mines, Rauora does not start with all her bulletproof panels available. Instead, she gains additional panels over time. At the start of the match, she has 1 panel, but as time passes, she accumulates a total of 4 panels. This means that, like Lesion, Rauora becomes more effective the longer she stays alive.
The D.O.M. Panel Launcher does not work on windows or breached walls — it is exclusively designed for doorframes.

Rainbow Six Siege: The 25 Most Powerful Weapons, Ranked
Until you’ve played for a while, it’s hard to tell which weapons are the best in Rainbow Six Siege. These are the most powerful ones in the game.
How to Deploy Rauora’s D.O.M. Panel Launcher
To deploy a bulletproof panel on a doorframe, first ensure that the door is clear of any barricades. If the door is unobstructed, equip your D.O.M. Panel Launcher, aim at the doorframe, and press left-click to fire. The projectile will travel toward the frame and apply the panel upon impact.
The panel projectile can be intercepted by Jager’s ADS and Wamai’s Mag-NET System. If Wamai’s gadget catches it, the projectile will drop to the ground and become unusable. Once fired, a panel shot is permanently spent and cannot be recovered by any means.

Things To Remember When Playing Rauoro
A new operator can often feel overwhelming at first, especially when figuring out how they interact with other operators. Here are a few key things to keep in mind when using Rauora:
General Tips for Playing Rauora
- Best for Defuser Plants: Bring Rauora when your team plans to plant the defuser, as defenders will have to waste explosive utility to permanently remove a panel.
- Use Panels for Cover: Deploy a panel to block a door just before planting, as it provides crucial protection in the first few seconds of the plant.
- Panels Are Vulnerable to Explosives: Any explosive device will destroy the bulletproof panel.
- Oryx Can Break Panels: Oryx’s Dash can break through a panel instantly.
- Claymore Counterplay Against Oryx: Placing a Claymore in front of a closed panel can result in a free kill if Oryx dashes through it.
- Jäger & Wamai Are Strong Counters: Both Jager’s ADS and Wamai’s Mag-NET can catch Rauora’s panel projectiles.
- Trigger Mechanism Range: The panel’s shootable trigger becomes active when an operator is within 6 meters of it.
- Closing the Panel: Shooting the trigger mechanism again after the panel opens will close it back up.
- Audio Cues Matter: The panel makes a distinct sound when opening and closing, allowing you to react even if you can’t see it.
- Flank Control: Use panels to cut off high-traffic flank routes to control the map.
- Deploy Panels Quickly: The D.O.M. Panel Launcher can fire multiple panels in relatively quick succession, allowing you to seal off multiple entry points rapidly.
