Focus Mode is Monster Hunter Wilds’ biggest new addition. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

After completing the main story, you’ll be faced with tougher monsters, and to fight against them, you’ll need much better gear. While you can craft a better armor, you can also further strengthen your current one by upgrading it, but for that, you’ll need a ton of Armor Spheres.

Armor Spheres are used to upgrade armor, but finding them can be quite a challenge. Upgraded armor can allow you to withstand attacks from monsters that would otherwise prove fatal. Additionally, if your armor is strong enough, you can easily withstand minor attacks without flinching and continue on your offense.

One way to get Armor Spheres is through completing quests. Many optional and story quests reward the Hunter with Armor Spheres on completion, and if you plan to stick to one or two armor sets, the Armor Spheres you get from completing quests should be enough to fulfill your needs.

However, the easiest way to get Armor Spheres is by smelting. You’ll have to head to the base camp in the Oilwell Basin Area. Just north of the tent, you’ll find Roqul, who can smelt different materials for you. Talk to Roqul and select the Smelt Armor Spheres option, and from there, you can select the type of Armor Sphere that you want to smelt.

You can check how many points are required to enhance your armor from the armor-upgrading menu at the Smithy. Note that the more points an Armor Sphere provides, the more items it will take to smelt it at the Smelting Foundry.

Once selected, you’ll be sent to the next screen, where you’ll have to select monster parts that you’ve harvested on your hunts to smelt the Armor Spheres with. Higher Rarity materials provide more points, but it’s recommended to use the monster materials that you have an abundance of in your inventory.

After selecting the required amount of materials, you can press the Smelt button to craft Armor Spheres. The Armor Spheres will then be added to your inventory, and you can upgrade your armor with them by talking to Gemma.
