You can get a Gun one of three ways:

The easiest way to obtain a firearm is by purchasing one from Vending Machines located at different Outposts. If you prefer to loot, check the crates inside Loot Hangars regularly, though finding a Gun this way is rare.
Crafting a Gun requires a Gun Kit, which can also be purchased or looted. Once you have a Gun Kit, use your workbench and add the necessary components: a Barrel, a Stock, and Metal Parts. These items can be obtained through looting or vending machines.
