Gamescom LATAM 2025 BIG Festival has revealed its list of finalists consisting of 90 video games from around the world. After a successful 2024 edition, Gamescom LATAM 2025 is expected to attract even more visitors.

In 2024, Gamescom LATAM received praise for its execution and was also the first event that combined the convention with BIG Festival. As the largest indie game festival in Latin America, Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival awards some of the year’s most notable international indie titles and lets attendees play them in person. The event also features major AAA titles on its show floor, as last year brought exhibits of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Now, Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival has revealed the finalists for its upcoming 2025 program.

Gamescom LATAM 2025 BIG Festival has confirmed that 90 video games have been selected to compete for over 17 different awards. According to Gamescom LATAM, 962 games from 71 countries signed up to compete this year, a record-breaking number for the event. Thirty-two of the finalists come from Latin America, with 19 representatives from Brazil, six from Argentina, four from Mexico, and one each from Colombia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. “This incredible participation reflects the continued growth of the independent video game industry all over the world, particularly in Latin America,” said Gustavo Steinberg, BIG Festival’s founder and Gamescom LATAM’s CEO.

The finalists will be exhibited during the five days of the event and the winners will be announced in two awards ceremonies. The first ceremony will be on April 30 with categories like Best Game, Best Game: Brazil, and Best Game: Latin America. It is worth noting that each of these awards comes with a cash prize of R$5,000 (around US$860). The second ceremony will be held on May 4, which will unveil the Best Game: Popular Vote winner and other awards. Last year, Gamescom LATAM crowned the indie Chants of Sennaar​​​​​​ as Game of the Year. The event’s 2025 edition will once again take place in São Paulo, Brazil​​​​​​.

The selected finalists include games from some major indie publishers like Annapurna Interactive’s Wanderstop, Devolver Digital’s The Plucky Squire, Copycat’s Nuuvem, and Critical Reflex’s Mouthwashing and THRESHOLD. Gamescom LATAM had previously revealed the attendance of The Pokemon Company in its 2025 edition, confirming special activities related to Pokemon GO, and exclusive Pokemon merchandise.

As stated by Gamescom LATAM, last year’s convention attracted over 100,000 fans. For this 2025 edition, Steam is attending Gamescom LATAM and will give talks directed at developers. Fans can look forward to more information in the coming weeks, but Gamescom LATAM 2025 is already expected to surpass its predecessor.
