Deliverance 2 Player Shows Brutal Aftermath of Accidentally Stealing an Apple

Summary

  • A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 shows the aftermath of stealing an apple in Kuttenberg.
  • The player stands proud in front of dozens and dozens of dead bodies as they seemingly wiped out most of the town.
  • Stealing in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an important gameplay mechanic, but it can also have some serious consequences.

A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 player has shown the brutal aftermath after they stole an apple in Kuttenberg, which resulted in the death of most of the town. Like many of the other gigantic RPGs, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 allows players to experience the lands of Bohemia in their own way, whether it’s by pillaging and stealing or using their charisma to charm their way through the narrative. But there are consequences for those opting to go down the former route.

Despite not even being halfway through the year, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already solidified itself as a potential Game of the Year candidate. While titles such as Split Fiction and Monster Hunter Wilds are likely also in the running for the coveted award, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has received rave reviews from both critics and players. The highly anticipated sequel continues the story of Henry of Skalitz as he embarks on another journey with the nobleman Sir Hans Capon, who, more often than not, needs rescuing. The game’s immersive realism and captivating story are just some of the reasons why Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a “very positive” review badge on Steam and an 88 on Metacritic.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Player Slaughters Kuttenberg Over an Apple

Stealing in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a vital gameplay mechanic that can drastically alter the way an individual experiences the game. While some opt to avoid stealing at all costs, others make it their main way to obtain Groschen and other lucrative items. However, stealing can have dire consequences, as Reddit user NavJongUnPlayandwon recently discovered. In a new post on the game’s subreddit, the user posted a picture of Henry standing in the center of Kuttenberg with dozens of slaughtered guards and civilians behind him, all because the player “accidentally stole an apple.”

For those who might be unaware, stealing an item and being spotted by an NPC can result in a wanted status, even if it is just an apple. There are numerous ways to remove the status, with some even opting to use Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s console commands to do so. But for those looking to keep their game legit, they must pay the fine when caught by a guard (which may vary depending on the severity of the crime), attempt to talk their way out of it, accept their punishment and do the jail time, or fight and flee. This user looks to have picked the latter of the four options and wiped out most of Kuttenberg.

Due to the sheer intelligence of NPCs, getting away with crimes can be a tough task. However, a recent Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 update made some huge adjustments to NPCs and crime in general. According to the official patch notes, NPCs are now “less precise” when investigating a sound they’ve heard from far away, and guards now have improved reactions when a player steals a corpse that’s currently being guarded. Update 1.2 includes a plethora of other changes to NPCs, combat, and more, which should ensure an even smoother experience for players.
