Square Enix is one of the most influential video game development studios ever. Part of the reason for this is that it owns so many series. Some of them began under Square, while others were created by Enix. Then, when the two companies merged into Square Enix, the new studio immediately had a lot of series on its hands.

How Many Games Has Square Enix Made?
The house and publisher of some of your favorite RPGs has distributed a lot of games over the years. Here we have an approximate list.
Most of them aren’t short series, either. After all, SE doesn’t seem to be a fan of just doing a trilogy of games. Many of the company’s biggest series get a regular slew of new installments. As some of them have been around since the ’80s, they’ve had a lot of entries by this point. This begs the question, which of SE’s series has had the most games? Here is the answer to that question.
Final Fantasy Has The Most Games Out Of Any Square Enix Series
Unsurprisingly, the Square Enix series with the most entries is Final Fantasy, which has produced 113 games. This doesn’t count re-releases or remasters, but it does count remakes. So, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are included in the 113 number.
There are 17 mainline entries, as there were technically two separate Final Fantasy 14 games. The part twos of some of these games haven’t counted toward the 17 number but have been included in the 113 one.
The 113 also includes the many spin-off titles, from Final Fantasy Tactics games to the Dissidia series to Theatrhythm titles, just to name a few of the main ones.
With all the spin-offs, it’s no surprise that Final Fantasy has more entries than any other Square Enix series. It also helps that the original title was released all the way back in 1987, giving plenty of time for more instalments.
How Many Entries Do The Other Square Enix Series Have?
While Final Fantasy had the most games of any Square Enix series by quite a distance, others have had many releases, too. Here are the SE series that have the closest amount of instalments to FF:
Series |
Number Of Games |
First Entry |
---|---|---|
Dragon Quest |
46 |
Dragon Quest (1986) |
Space Invaders |
33 |
Space Invaders (1978) |
Championship Manager |
26 |
Championship Manager (1992) |
All these games are either owned by Square Enix or a subsidiary of Square Enix. Since the company no longer owns Tomb Raider, that series hasn’t counted.
