Monster Hunter Wilds continues the long-running franchise while making the game more accessible to a new audience of first-time hunters. Much of your time in Monster Hunter Wilds will be spent trying to make the perfect build for your character. This means you’ll have to defeat many monsters to grind out your preferred weapons, armor sets, and charm talismans.
Monster parts are essential to building your stylish armor, but some monster parts can be harder to find and will require you to explore the wilds outside the main story missions. Most small monsters can be found while journeying through areas by yourself or with a friend using an environment link party. What is a Kranodath in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Kranodath Skulls can only be found by hunting minor monsters called Kranodath. These are small carnivorous creatures with horns on their heads. They can easily blend into some areas due to their grey skin. Kranodath Skulls can be used to craft Kranodath Mail and many other sets of armor. Kranodath Mail is a useful armor piece, as it’s an early way to get the Flinch Free skill. This skill prevents your hunter from being knocked back or tripped by monster attacks. Kranodath Skulls are also used to craft certain charm talismans, which can be equipped to your armor and weapons to add more skills to your loadout.
Where to Get Kranodath Skulls in Monster Hunter Wilds
Kranodath are small monsters, which means you will have to discover them on your own. Once you do, they will be shown as small pink icons on your map. Once you have found some Kranodath, you can specifically target them by using your filters. Set a waypoint on one and mount your Seikret to head straight towards them.
These monsters are native to the Oilwell Basin. You can find Kranodath in Areas 2, 7, and 14. They are skittish around large monsters and may be driven to other areas by them. Attack Kranodath to gain their optional quests so you can go hunting for them and get some more rewards. You have a 75% chance to carve a Kranodath Skull off of their corpses.
If you have completed the story, Kranodath will instead drop Kranodath Skull+ for upgrading the high-rank versions of their armor. Do a low-rank quest (blue stars) in the Oilwell Basin area if you find yourself needing some default Kranodath Skulls instead of the high-rank version.
