The Great Windward Aloe is one such item that can only be gotten as part of this shifting cycle. While it may not be the most useful item in the game, it can at times be used to get even better items. As such, it’s best your hands to get your hands on it when you can, since you never know when it might appear again.
Where To Get Great Windward Aloe
Great Windward Aloe is an item endemic to the Windward Plains. Unlike the regular Windward Aloe item, it is significantly rarer, appearing only under specific circumstances. Specifically, it must be the Plenty, but that’s not enough to guarantee its appearance, either. In fact, they can’t even be gathered from the regular Windward Succulent plant like other Windward Aloes can be.
Instead, you must wait for a Great Windward Aloe Emergence, which can only occur during the Plenty. You will be notified when the event is active, though you can also check the Environment Overview to see if it’s scheduled to occur soon. The best you can do is simply rest in a tent repeatedly until you see it show up.
If you see Great Windward Aloe Emergence on the forecast tab, it’s best to just wait in real-time. Resting can sometimes reset the forecast entirely.
Once it does appear, it will be marked on the map and you can go right towards it. Make sure to equip skills like Botanist and Geologist to make sur you get as many as you can when gathering. Once you’ve gathered from a special item like this, it will not respawn after 15 minutes like regular items. You just have to wait for it to appear again in future.
Uses For Great Windward Aloe
With a hopefully heavy stash of Great Windward Aloe to hand, you can finally start to use them. Like many other rare items in the game, it is used exclusively in trading, this time with characters from Kunafa in the Windward Plains itself.
Great Windward Aloe is used for trading for particularly rare items, such as Sharp Kunafa Cheese, Doshaguma Fang+, and Rey Dau Fulgurtalons. It can help you stock up on some of these rarer items without having to go through a whole hunt. ANd if you’re not happy with the items available for trade, just pass an in-game day for their stock to update.
