Since then, there have been a number of his roles that have been revealed posthumously. This time, the next, and most likely, final, voice acting performance by Kevin Conroy will be in the upcoming anime adaptation of Capcom’s Devil May Cry.
Conroy’s role was revealed in the most recent trailer for the upcoming series, which is courtesy of Netflix, Studio MIR and Castevania showrunner Adi Shankar, who assures fans that the beloved voice actor’s voice has not been created or altered using AI. The Devil May Cry anime is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3.

Kevin Conroy plays the role of VP Baines, a brand-new character making his debut in the anime, joining the cast of the series that includes Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante. Conroy’s voice can be heard during the trailer shared on Wednesday, March 12, and other promotional materials released in anticipation of the upcoming Devil May Cry anime. Conroy recorded the character’s lines prior to his passing.
The last animated project Conroy had a voice acting role in was He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in 2022, and the last role overall that he was credited for was his posthumous credit in the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video game released in 2024. Kevin Conroy’s last role as Batman was in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3, which came out in 2024. The extent of the involvement of Conroy’s character in the Devil May Cry narrative has not yet been revealed. The most recent Devil May Cry trailer has gone on to garner over a million views in 24 hours.
