Lumi is a powerful A-Rank sub-DPS unit in Wuthering Waves who can also buff allies and act as a support for the rest of her team. One of the biggest advantages of Lumi is that she is very easy to use, so you won’t have to worry about complex rotations and difficult combos.
However, she does require resources to be valuable since being a sub-DPS with support abilities, you have to focus on both her damage output and Energy Regen. If you are looking to build Lumi and want to make the most out of her kit, here’s a detailed build that will guide you all the way.
Best Lumi Weapons
Lumi is a Broadsword user in Wuthering Waves, and she has quite a few options available. Ideally, you would look for options that can increase her Energy Regeneration and help spam her skills more effectively. Here are the best Broadswords you should consider for Lumi when getting her build ready:
Weapon |
Rarity |
Synergy With Lumi |
---|---|---|
Lustrous Razer |
5-star |
This is the best 5-star option for Lumi as, apart from the high base ATK, it also provides ATK as a secondary stat. Apart from that, you receive Energy Regen and Resonance Liberation DMG bonuses, both of which benefit Lumi a lot. |
Discord |
4-star |
This is a 4-star option for Lumi that provides around 51% Energy Regen from its secondary stat. Additionally, it also helps Lumi recover Concerto energy, which comes in handy during rotations. |
Waning Redshift |
4-star |
This is also a decent option for Lumi as it not only provides ATK% as a secondary stat but also increases her ATK through its passive. This, in turn, increases Lumi’s overall damage. |
Broadblade of Voyager |
3-star |
This is a good free-to-play option for Lumi as it provides a lot of Energy Regen through both its secondary stat as well as its passive. This helps Lumi use her abilities more frequently, which also makes rotations easier. |
While ATK is a good stat on Lumi, its better if you go for a weapon that provides Energy Regen since it is much more valuable during rotations. You won’t have Lumi for long on the field and your target is to trigger her Outro Skill.
Lumi Echo Guide
Being a sub-DPS unit that also functions as support, Lumi relies on Energy Regen, and you have to go for Echoes, which will help out not just her but also the rest of the team. However, her stats need to be a mixed bag where she can deal damage while quickly recharging her abilities.
Best Lumi Echo Sets
Moonlit Clouds (5-pc) |
This is the best set for Lumi as it provides Energy Regen while also increasing the ATK of the next Resonator when using an Outro Skill. It provides balance for Lumi, where her support abilities are maximized. |
---|---|
Void Thunder (5-pc) |
If you want to build Lumi for maximum damage, Void Thunder is a good choice. It provides a lot of Electro DMG bonus, which boosts Lumi’s output. |
Best Primary Echoes For Lumi
Echo Name |
Set Name |
Reason |
---|---|---|
Impermanence Heron |
Moonlit Clouds |
Apart from being the primary Echo for the Moonlit Clouds set, Impermanence Heron also provides Resonance Energy to the equipped character and increases the damage of the next character. These buffs stack with the Moonlit Clouds set. |
Nightmare: Tempest Mephis |
Void Thunder |
The Nightmare: Tempest Mephis enhances Lumi’s Electro DMG while also boosting her Resonance Skill DMG, both of which benefit Lumi in her DPS build. |
Best Echo Stats For Lumi
4-Cost |
Crit Rate or Crit DMG |
---|---|
3-Cost |
Energy Regen or Electro DMG |
1-Cost |
ATK% |
While Void Thunder is a good set, it’s highly recommended you go for Moonlit Clouds as the value you receive is a lot higher. If you don’t have good pieces for Moonlit Clouds, you can use Void Thunder for now, but you must change it later on.
Best Lumi Team Compositions
Lumi fits best in team compositions where she can deal damage, activate her Outro Skill, and switch to the main DPS. She can provide about 38% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus, and two DPS units benefit from that massively.
Changli/Lumi/Shorekeeper |
Lumi’s Resonance Skill DMG buff is massive for Changli, as the latter primarily relies on that ability. Shorekeeper can boost the team’s Crit Rate and Crit DMG, which benefits both Changli and Lumi. |
---|---|
Carlotta/Lumi/Shorekeeper |
Carlotta is another character who heavily relies on her Resonance Skill DMG output, making Lumi a powerful unit to have on that team. However, you will have to ensure that Carlotta’s Forte is charged and activated as soon as Lumi’s Outro Skill is used. Lumi’s buff has a 10-second duration, which means unless your timing is perfect, you will miss out on the buff. |
The other unit that also needs Resonance Skill DMG Bonus is Jinhsi. However, she relies on coordinated attacks, and Lumi can’t fill that role. Jinhsi is better suited alongside Zhezhi. This means Lumi doesn’t have any other character right now apart from Changli, who can utilize her buff effectively.
Lumi Traces Overview And Priority
Lumi is pretty simple to play, but you will need to play her a few times to get used to her kit. Her Forte Gauge is divided into two parts, and she can play both as a melee character as well as from range. Here’s a rundown of how Lumi functions in the game:
- Lumi’s Forte Gauge is divided into two modes, the Yellow Mode and Red Mode.
- The Yellow Mode is ranged, and Red Mode is a melee mode.
- You always start in melee mode, but pressing your E ability switches between the two modes.
- Once you decide to play either of the two modes, start pressing your basic attack. Doing this will fill up one side of your Forte gauge.
- If you are in melee mode, the red half will fill up, and if you are in ranged mode, the yellow half will fill up.
- Once the Forte Gauge on one side is full, you will receive an enhanced E ability, which, upon using, will automatically switch you to the mode other than the one you have been using.
- Her Resonance Liberation is a damage ability where she will deal decent Electro DMG to enemies. You should use it in between your rotations.
Make sure you don’t switch out of Lumi until her Outro Skill is active. If you do so, you’ll miss out on the 38% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus.
Ideally, you would want to keep switching between the two modes and use your Resonance Liberation until your Outro Skill is active. Once Outro is activated, switch to the DPS character, deal damage, and then repeat the rotation from your healer.
In terms of skill priority, this is what you should follow: Forte Circuit > Resonance Liberation > Resonance Skill. Lumi’s primary damage is tied to her Forte Circuit, and that should be your priority ahead of everything else.
