Here’s how to get all the weapons in Roblox: Dead Rails!
From Zombies to Outlaws, there are many dangers on the rails. You’ll also need to know how much the corpses sell for, and what conditions make the enemies appear in the first place.
Enemies Explained, And How To Fight Them
Enemies spawn either in the open world, or under specific conditions. For the majority of the game, you’ll be fighting Zombies, occasionally Vampires and Werewolves, and the wilderness, filled with Wolves and Outlaws.
Each enemy has a health pool, and after dying, becomes a corpse which can be used for different purposes. Enemies will, upon spotting you, relentlessly chase you even if you travel a great distance away.
Weapons Explained
Weapons are divided into two categories: melee and ranged. Ranged weapons need ammo to function, which needs to be found or bought separately, and melee weapons are meant for close-range fights, but never break.
There are quite a few melee weapons which can be found in the game, but they all serve the same purpose – if all else fails, you can rely on these. They can only damage one enemy at a time, and are far inferior to ranged weapons damage-wise.
If enemies are stuck inside buildings, you can use melee weapons to hit them through walls. Be careful, as stepping too close can lead you to taking damage, so keep some distance from the wall, and bash them until they make an audible death sound.
Ranged weapons, on the other hand, we recommend you take at the very beginning of the game; the shotgun being the best choice here. The shotgun can one-shot most enemies at a close distance, and it will be your primary defense for the entire game.
If you’ve got money to burn, buy a rifle as well, as this can pick out enemies from a distance, and one-shot them if you land a headshot.
All Enemies
There are many different enemy types, which differ in how they spawn, what their stats are, and how they’re dealt with.
Normal Zombies
The most common enemy in the game, Zombies spawn in and around houses and towns. They don’t spawn elsewhere.
They’re quite slow, so they’re easy to outrun, and they have very little health. They have a variation that spawns in towns next to banks, called Banker Zombies, and killing them gives you the code to the vault of the bank.
They can die with any firearm, and, with well-timed attacks, they can also be killed with melee weapons without sustaining damage by running backwards whilst swinging at them.
Runner Zombies
Some Zombies can instead spawn as Runner Zombies, and they are the primary enemy that spawns during a regular night, where they will spawn around the player and train.
They are far faster than their regular variation, and can outrun players, but they still don’t have a lot of HP.
If a horde is chasing you, these are the ones you should focus on. They have a different face, but you’ll also notice their speed – firearms are your only option here. A shotgun can kill them in one shot up close.
Zombie Soldiers And Captain Prescott
These are the Zombies which spawn around Fort Constitution, and they don’t appear elsewhere in the game.
Captain Prescott and his army of Zombie Soldiers carry firearms. The damage they deal depends on the weapons they carry, yet they still have the same amount of HP as the other zombies. As they are a variation of the Runner Zombie, they are as fast.
By the time you get to the Fort, you should have some ranged firearms, such as a rifle. Pick them out at a range, before they get close enough to where their aim doesn’t need to be good to hit you. Captian Prescott himself isn’t any bigger of a threat than the rest of the Zombies, but he is worth a lot of money when brought to the Sheriff.
Vampires
Vampires spawn only on Blood Moons and around the Castle. If spawned during the Blood Moon, they despawn when day comes, though if killed, their corpses stay.
They deal a bit more damage than Zombies, though they have a special ability which is to teleport close to you if far away. They aren’t very fast, so with enough firepower, they’re just as weak as Zombies.
Listen for the audio cue they make when they teleport, as you’ll only have a bit of time to respond – and, if it is a Blood Moon, don’t stay indoors, as it gets so dark you won’t be able to tell where they teleported.
Werewolves
Werewolves are one of the toughest enemies in the game. They spawn on a Full Moon, at the Castle, and rarely in Wolf Packs.
They are fast, tanky, and deal a ton of damage; multiple shotgun shots are required for just one of these beasts, and they can spawn in big numbers.
They have glowing red eyes, so stay out in the open. Don’t catch yourself in towns or areas where you can’t see around you very well, as they will catch you off-guard in the blink of an eye. Look for the glowing eyes, and try to take them out at a range before anything else.
Outlaws
Outlaws can spawn anywhere in the desert. They usually spawn in a group, and usually on horseback, though both of these aren’t always the case. They also spawn in their own Outlaw Camps.
On foot, they aren’t very fast, but they are quite quick on horseback. They have firearms, and deal a lot of damage, especially at close ranges, but they don’t have a lot of health.
If you can help it, pass them when you see them on the train. They aren’t worth fighting unless you’ve got some friends of your own to help you, though they can be worth a lot if left at the Sheriff. If you’re not on a train, however, they can end your run in the blink of an eye, as their volley of bullets is nothing to scoff at – use rifles if they’re far away.
Wolves
Wolves spawn in the desert as well, in packs. Sometimes, a Werewolf can spawn alongside them.
They aren’t too big of a threat. They are relatively quick, but with very little HP, and not a lot of damage either.
They can be useful as train fuel, but if you can help it, ignore them whilst passing by on the train. If you are fighting them, any weapon will do, just try to not get overwhelmed by a big pack.
