Weapon evolutions in Rogue: Genesia are a complex process. There’s a large number of weapons; not all of them have evolutions, and some have more than one. The process for unlocking them is more than simply finding the ingredients, so it’s possible to win several runs without encountering a single evolved weapon.

The Best Games To Play If You Like Vampire Survivors
Already there are great games following in Vampire Survivors’ footsteps, and here we look at the best ones.
However, the power that evolutions offer is hard to pass up once you know how to access it, and they can be obtained with some consistency when you know what you’re doing. This guide will cover how to unlock the evolutions and the full list of unique options.
How To Evolve Weapons
Most evolved weapons have to be unlocked similar to normal soul-cards. Almost all evolutions are tied to an achievement for limit-breaking the component weapon. This means using meditation events or a blacksmith shop to push a weapon one level above its normal limit.
Once the achievement popup for limit-breaking the weapon appears, you’ll be able to evolve it even during the same run.
- The weapon needs to be upgraded to level seven (you’ll have already done this in the limit-breaking process).
- A second (or more) component needs to be in your inventory. These don’t need to be levelled up.
- The evolved weapon will be added to the pool of new soul cards when you level up or enter a shop. Blacksmiths will reliably offer you evolutions if you meet the conditions.
- The evolved weapon will banish any weapon components but other soul cards will remain in your inventory.
If both components are weapons, they both need to be levelled up to seven before evolving. The limit break achievement will be tied to only one weapon, however.
The initial drop rate of the evolved weapon is higher than most cards, so it is liable to appear quickly once you’ve met the conditions. Rarity rerolls don’t appear to produce evolved weapons, since they count as their own tier. Using a rarity reroll on an evolved weapon produced heroic cards in testing.
All Standard Weapon Evolutions
The majority of weapon evolutions can be used on all standard avatars. However, the gunslinger and summoner don’t use the regular pool of weapons, so they can’t access the same evolutions.
If you’re looking to get a certain evolved weapon, you’ll typically want to equip an active talent that gives you at least one component. Non-weapon components will typically turn up at some point in a run, made easier if you have access to rerolls.
If a recipe requires multiple weapons, you’ll want to play an avatar with plenty of weapon slots. Both the duelist and lagrog are capped to four weapons, making it difficult to make a recipe that uses three specific weapons.
