World of Warcraft players can find a Tarnished Undermine Real, an important currency from Season of Discovery, in the new zone of Patch 11.1, where they can exchange it for the Undermine Undershirt transmog. By finding this nostalgic World of Warcraft treasure, fans can trade the coin with the modern version of the Season of Discovery Tarnished Undermine Real vendor to collect the purple shirt worn by her Classic counterpart.
Recently, World of Warcraft released Patch 11.1, Undermine(d). The content update finally introduced the eponymous zone of Undermine, the underground Goblin metropolis players have heard of for most of the history of World of Warcraft.

That said, there is an Easter egg in Undermine that World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery fans won’t want to miss. In the Vatworks, beneath the sewer grate near the entrance of Side Street Sluice – one of the new Delves in World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 – a Sewer Cheese can be found on one of the sealed barrels. Picking it up grants a buff called Cheesed to Meet You?, allowing one to trade with the nearby Hungry Rat, who gives them a Tarnished Undermine Real in exchange. Bringing this to Pix Xizzix on the second floor of the Port Authority building in the Blackwater Marina opens up a special dialogue option where players can trade the coin for the Undermine Undershirt, a brand-new purple shirt transmog.
Tarnished Undermine Real in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1
- Enter the sewer grate in the Vatworks near the Side Street Sluice Delve

Those who have played WoW Classic Season of Discovery will recognize the Tarnished Undermine Real and the NPC who accepts it. Tarnished Undermine Reals are a currency used in Season of Discovery to buy catch-up gear and unique toys, while Pix Xizzix is the NPC vendor in Booty Bay who accepts these useful World of Warcraft Classic coins.
What’s more, the Undermine Undershirt transmog itself is a callback to Pix Xizzix. Originally added in Patch 7.2.5 as the Purple Shirt, but never actually obtainable in game until now, the Undermine Undershirt is identical to the one worn by Pix Xizzix in World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery.
This is far from the only secret fans can find in Undermine(d). World of Warcraft players who visit Greexit Coarsebub, a vendor hidden in an alley south of Slam Central Station, can purchase a Bruiser’s Helm, Bruiser’s Spaulders, and Bruiser’s Tabard with a color scheme based on the Cartel of Undermine they are currently contracted with. Between these hidden delights, and references to pop culture like Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Undermine is full of all sorts of secrets for World of Warcraft fans to discover.
