What is The Island in WWE 2K25?
WWE 2K25‘s newest game mode, The Island, pays homage to the family in focus for the game – the Bloodline and the Samoan Dynasty. The Island is a multiplayer WWE experience where players can explore a number of locations throughout the map with fellow players. In it, you create a wrestler to take part in single-player quests, complete challenges and live events, and move up the ranks in multiplayer play.
This game mode is only available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S users.
The Island essentially offers players a mix of experiences, including another career-like mode where they can progress through a story, earn VC, and spend their earnings on bonuses like cosmetics. The map is split into multiple districts, all inspired by the game’s stacked roster of current and past superstars. The districts are as follows:
- Hero HQ.
- The Arcade of Tomorrow.
- The Temple of Ancestors.
- The Deadlands.
Each district is home to its own stores, as well as their own themed arenas, which you can use to battle friends or fellow wrestling fans online.
How To Play Online on The Island in WWE 2K25
As mentioned above, The Island is home to a number of themed districts, all of which have their own arenas. It is in these arenas that you can test your skills against other players online and rise in the ranks to unlock an abundance of rewards. To challenge someone online, simply approach one of the arenas and hit confirm to begin searching for an opponent. Once you have been matched up with someone, you will proceed to compete with them in the stipulated bout.
Alternatively, you can issue or accept a challenge from another player directly through the online match-up menu. To find it, simply press the Down button the the D-Pad. This will open the “Who’s Online” menu, from which you can cycle between your friends list and nearby players. To issue a challenge, simply select your intended opponent and select “Invite to a Match”. To accept a challenge, press the R1/RB to navigate to Match Invites and accept it there.
