From E-Rank to S-Rank Status

Unlike other people who awakened with powerful abilities, Sung Jin-Woo awakened with dismal magic abilities, making his E-rank status a laughingstock among his peers. Whenever Jin-Woo shows up for dungeon raids, his colleagues poke fun at his abilities and mock his feeble appearance. If Jin-Woo is present, it only means that the gate everyone is about to raid is a piece of cake. His epithet as the weakest hunter was even often compared to the Master of the Hunters Guild, Choi Jong-in, who was renowned as the Ultimate Soldier in South Korea.

However, things have drastically changed for Jin-Woo following the double dungeon incident in which he was thrown, along with other hunters, inside the deadly Cartenon Temple. Jin-Woo, who was on the verge of death, ascended to greatness after accepting the system’s offer to become its player, allowing him to level up his abilities unlike any other hunter in the world. By defeating monsters of different kinds, clearing dungeons, and completing the system’s challenging quests, Jin-Woo obtained overwhelming strength that even S-rank hunters could not fathom.

Is There a Level Cap in the System?

Sung Jin-Woo reached level 100 during the Jeju Island raid, where he defeated the Ant King and abolished his army of a thousand ants with the help of his shadow summons. It was a turning point in Jin-Woo’s hunter career as his name became widely known not just in South Korea but also in the rest of the world. While it wasn’t officially announced, most people already considered him a nation-class hunter.

When Jin-Woo reached level 100, he was given the key to the Cartenon Temple, where everything began for him. At level 101, Jin-Woo’s job-specific skills have also improved to the point where the cooldown of his shadow exchange skills has decreased by an hour, and vision sharing with his shadows is now possible. In short, Jin-Woo became even stronger, defying expectations that level 100 would be his maximum level.

By the time Jin-Woo reached level 103, he had already returned to the Cartenon Temple to face the system’s creator, Kandiaru. Jin-Woo defeated Kandiaru’s temporary body and successfully locked him out of the system he created. Supposedly, Kandiaru wanted the Shadow Monarch Ashborn to take over Jin-Woo’s body, but the Shadow Monarch bestowed his powers, including his black heart, on Jin-Woo and appointed him as his successor. The system was eventually deleted after serving its purpose, but with the true powers of the Shadow Monarch at Jin-Woo’s disposal, he was able to grow even more powerful.

Is There a Limit to Sung Jin-Woo’s Power?

The Solo Leveling community is divided on whether Sung Jin-Woo’s abilities have a limit at all. Some believe his power is truly infinite, while others think that there’s a limit to how much power his body can handle. In the series, however, Norma Selner, an upgrader who attempted to use her powers in Jin-Woo, concurs that Jin-Woo’s powers had no limits at all.

Whether Jin-Woo’s powers have a limit or not, at the end of the day, he still becomes the strongest being in the series, to the point that even his mere existence can influence the course of the world. It’s fortunate that, despite his immense powers, Sung Jin-Woo does not lose himself, unlike other anime characters who fully embrace their inner darkness.
