Intended to help the international game catch up with Japan before the release dates align, Digimon Card Game’s Release Special Booster 2.5 is a combination of the remaining cards from BT19 Xros Evolution that were not released in the 2.0 booster alongside, as well as all of BT20 Over The X.

Even though the BT19 cards are greatly appreciated, BT20 brings a slew of new support for old archetypes alongside some incredibly valuable cards with the return of Textured foil. Start clearing spots in your binders for these gorgeous cards.

HeavyMetaldramon ACE (Textured) – $209.90

Time To Rock!

HeavyMetaldramon was introduced in the Digimon Liberator webcomic, and it quickly became a fan-favorite, alongside its Tamer, Yuuki. This rockin’ Digimon has an interesting playstyle, where in a game full of card draw, you aim to have the least amount of cards in hand.

This ACE card helps the deck out a ton, especially if you manage to pull one of these beautiful textured cards. It shows off a gnarly concert put on by no other than the speaker-clad evil dragon.

Examon ACE (Textured) – $229.15

The Largest Royal Knight

Examon was a super strong deck when it first released back in EX3. It fell off for a bit, but after 2.5, it’s back better than ever. This ACE gives Examon so many more avenues of play with battle tricks and a slew of keywords – some might say too many.

Examon is already known for having incredible alternate arts, but Bandai and Itohiro really outdid themselves with this one. Examon flying past the clouds and into a rainbow looks gorgeous on cardboard.

Zephagamon ACE (Textured) – $234.42

Zephagamon’s Ultimate Form

Just like the last two decks, Zephagamon did not get too much time in the limelight. While it was a decent rogue deck, it could not match the power of the other titans in the format. With cards like MedievalGallantmon and this Zephagamon ACE, it can now hang with the big boys.

If you’ve read the Digimon Liberator webcomic, then you’ve seen this version of the Vortex Warrior. This card makes Zephagamon look like an Angel Digimon rather than a warrior.

Jesmon GX ACE (Textured) – $279.19

DNA Blast Digivolve!

For some reason, Bandai chose a ton of angelic artwork for their textured cards in this set. Don’t get us wrong though, they do look amazing. This Jesmon GX ACE looks mighty menacing while light shines down, ready to defeat its opponents.

This is exactly what the Jesmon deck needed to compete, albeit for a ridiculous price point. Although the artwork feels a bit flat, this is one of the cards that you have to see in person to see how awesome it is.

Beelzemon: Blast Mode ACE (Textured) – $290.31

They Can’t All Be Heroes…

Even though most of the textured cards have been of members of the Royal Knights and some of the most righteous Digimon, we still need to show some love to some of Digimon’s baddest boys. Beelzemon was a dominant force in the meta for a while, and now he’s back with a powerful ACE card.

Not only is this a welcome addition to the Beelzemon deck, but it also features incredible artwork by the legend himself Kenji Watanabe, the mastermind behind many iconic Digimon designs.

Alphamon: Ouryuken ACE (Textured) – $405.31

The Blade Of The Dragon King

Without an Alphamon card, is this really a Royal Knights set? Finally, one of the most powerful Royal Knights receives an ACE card to combat the shenanigans in the current format. With this card, you’ll be able to DNA Digivolve and start your OTKs with ease.

Just like most of the Royal Knights, this textured beauty shows off the Digimon atop a building looking regal while the feathers of its wings float down. This one is sure to hold value for a while, especially with that Vaccine typing.

Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Textured) – $496.25

The Most Popular Jogress: Now Evil.

Bandai really loves Imperialdramon and to be fair, who doesn’t? With a dark and new recolor, the Virus version of the DNA Digivolution gets an incredible gold-bordered card to show off to your friends and opponents alike.

For some reason, only a few cards from the set received this gold foil treatment, and if you’ve seen Bandai’s previous work, then you know that this card looks stunning in person. This is by far one of the coolest cards in the set, meaning you’ll have to pay a small fortune for it.

Omnimon (X Antibody) (Textured) – $592. 50

Face Card Never Declines

For the last couple of sets where they are featured, Bandai has released alternate textured lottery cards of the X Antibody versions of the Royal Knights. This time, Omnimon gets its long-overdue gold card.

It is a bit odd that some Royal Knights, like Dynasmon and LordKnightmon, already have X Antibody versions, but they have yet to receive a gold card. Hopefully soon, but for now, this close to $600 card will make for an excellent placeholder in your binder. Either save for now, or maybe buy a playset to fill the spots.

WarGreymon (Rare Pull) – $1,111

Tai’s Mega Digimon Unleashed!

Technically, all of the cards above are lottery cards, but this WarGreymon card is a different beast altogether. While the card itself didn’t see much play when it originally released in BT14 Blast Ace, this lottery card will have people throwing cash at you if they see it in your collection.

The card is actually numbered, and there are only 300, so aside from tournament prizing, this is definitely one of the hardest Digimon cards to acquire. The price is sitting at over a grand, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it later climbed way up.

The Power Of Friendship!

Like peanut butter and jelly, we need a MetalGarurumon to pair with WarGreymon. Although both cards are incredible looking, especially with their full Digivolution lines as outlines in the background, this MetalGarurumon has seen tons of competitive play.

Being one of the first DigiDestined Digimon, Garurumon will continue to get support for their blue strategies, meaning this is now the highest rarity of an already pricey card on its own. Just like WarGreymon, this card is sure to explode in price. Hopefully, you just win the lottery and pull it from one of your boxes.
