If Netflix Made This One Change For Stranger Things Season 5, It Would Make A Huge Difference

One change to Netflix’s approach could make a massive difference for Strangers Things.

According to Deadline, Sadie Sink has now been officially cast in an unknown role in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie. While Marvel Studios has yet to comment on the news, Sink has been long-rumored to be joining the MCU as X-Men character Jean Grey. That could still happen, with Marvel looking to slowly roll out the mutant characters ahead of an eventual X-Men movie. However, it cannot be ruled out that she will be taking on a different role that could be more focused on the Spider-Man franchise. Regardless of who Sink ends up playing, it has been confirmed she is going to have a ‘significant’ role in the movie.

It has previously been rumored that Marvel Studios is set to introduce a brand-new supporting cast to the franchise in the fourth installment, which would stay on track with the plotline that was created in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Doctor Strange made a spell that erased Peter Parker’s identity from the world; therefore, it’s expected that his former friends will have reduced roles this time around. Zendaya is reportedly going to have a smaller role this time due to her filming schedule not aligning with Marvel’s Spider-Man 4 plans. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see further new characters added to the project before production begins.

Sink is someone who MCU fans will be very familiar with due to her role as May Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. She has officially wrapped up her time on that show, as Stranger Things recently finished production for the final season, which is due to air later this year. The fifth season of the science fiction epic is highly anticipated and will only put even more eyes on Sink, which will benefit Spider-Man 4.

The idea of Sink portraying X-Men star Jean Gray, aka the Dark Phoenix, is something that had a lot of people excited due to the obvious aesthetic similarities she has to the character. But also because Sink has proven herself as one of the most exciting upcoming actors in the industry. The arrival of the X-Men in the MCU is something that has had a lot of people talking, and Marvel has confirmed that they plan to sprinkle things in regarding the X-Men franchise. Bringing Grey into Spider-Man 4 could be an interesting way of doing that, as it would potentially link Parker with the X-Men moving forward. But whether Sink plays Grey or someone else, the news of her being in the Spider-Man 4 cast is certainly exciting for the MCU.
