Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater co-developer Virtuos is opening a new studio in South Korea. Founded in 2004, the Singaporean studio Virtuos has been known for providing support for multiple well-known AAA games, such as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and it seems that the company decided to branch out and expand its operations into another country.
Virtuos’ largest project at the moment is the co-development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater together with Konami. The title will be a current-gen remake of the popular Metal Gear Solid 3, and was originally announced in 2023. After being leaked recently, it was confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be out on August 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Codec calls are a near-essential part of classic Metal Gear, but Konami may feel compelled to evolve them for future remakes.
Now, VGC has reported that Virtuos is opening up a new studio in South Korea. According to the co-developer of Metal Gear Solid Delta, the goal is that this new studio will serve as a hub for other South Korean devs, expanding their global reach. Virtuos Seoul’s general manager has talked about the new branch, stating that South Korea is the fourth-largest gaming market in the world, and that the new enterprise will help local developers address unique challenges faced by local studios.
The current moment seems like the perfect time for Virtuos to branch out and seek out new markets. Not only is the development of Metal Gear Solid 3’s remake nearing its final phases, but Virtuos acquired three new studios earlier this year: Pipeworks Studios, Umanaia Interactive, and Abstraction.
Luckily, fans should not be worried that Virtuos opening up this new studio will affect Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as the prominent title seems to be in the late stages of development. Last month, Konami shared the PC system requirements to run Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Gamers who intend to play the title will need a beefy PC with 16 GB RAM or more, and at least a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super (8GB), and an Intel i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 for the Minimum specs.
The Standard Edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta will cost $70, and the Digital Deluxe Edition will be priced at $80. This special edition will come with a few exclusive costumes, which prompted some gamers to complain about Metal Gear Solid Delta’s DLC. Gamers who purchase the Digital Deluxe Collector’s Edition of the Konami game will also get the contents of the digital edition, which includes the new outfits.
