This popularity also extends to its evolutions, the so-called Eeveelutions, which inspire the ingenuity of fans to create fan art.
There are countless examples, such as an unusual Bug/Dragon-type Eeveelution called Festiveon. With a concept inspired by Chinese dragon costumes, the artwork achieves a unique and colorful result. A talented Pokemon fan creates regional forms for Phantump and Trevenant, giving a different twist to the Gen 6 evolutionary line.
Redditor Spoodsthedude has created an impressive Bug-type Eeveelution called Arachneon. As the name suggests, this new form is based on a spider, and the condition for Eevee to turn into Arachneon is for the critter to have a high friendship and level up while having any spider Pokemon in the party, such as Joltik/Galvantula and Spinarak/Ariados. With this, the Eevee would be bitten and turn into a creature with green eyes, black fur, and other parts of its body with white fur and details reminiscent of a spider’s web. In addition to its regular legs, Arachneon has green spider legs on the side of its body, while its shiny variant has the colors of Spider-Man’s suit, which, according to the OP, was one inspiration for their artwork.
Creative Pokemon Fan Art Shows What an Eeveelution Inspired by a Spider Would Look Like
The first Eeveelutions introduced were Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon, in which Eevee transforms when the trainer uses a Thunder, Fire, or Water Stone. Since then, it has gained five more Eeveelutions, each with a unique design. But despite being a highly popular evolutionary line, Pokemon hasn’t introduced a new Eeveelution in the Gen 7, 8, and 9 games. As a result, the most recent form is Sylveon, which was featured in Gen 6 games. To get a Sylveon, the player needs to evolve Eevee while knowing a Fairy-type move and having a high friendship level.
Even though it hasn’t received a new evolution in 12 years, Eevee’s popularity is proof of the love that fans have for the critter. With the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A scheduled for 2025, Eevee fans wait to find out if the pocket monster will finally get a new form, exploring the types of Eeveelution that don’t exist yet.
