Despite the fact that Monster Hunter Wilds emphasizes storytelling more than any mainline entry before it and therefore doesn’t get players into the action as quickly and as frequently, when monster fights happen, they can be intensely chaotic. In fact, many of Monster Hunter Wilds‘ climactic encounters throughout the story are with some of the largest monsters the series has ever seen, and even if some of the franchise’s challenge has been somewhat removed from these fights, they are still filled with the same non-stop action and persistent dodges Monster Hunter is known for.
That’s what makes Suja Village such a refreshing location in Monster Hunter Wilds, as it ultimately serves as a peaceful contrast to the rest of the game’s chaos. While players visit numerous interesting locations throughout Monster Hunter Wilds‘ story, Suja Village stands out so much that even the player character’s allies can’t stop talking about how tranquil and beautiful it is. Unlike many of the other locations in the game, Suja Village is saturated in bright green vegetation and warm lighting, and it’s all reinforced by a musical track that is as soothing as it is inviting. To top it all off, everyone’s favorite pet, Poogie, returns in Monster Hunter Wilds and can be found near the entrance of Suja Village.
Players can pet Poogie and even rename him if they wish in Monster Hunter Wilds. Petting him the wrong results in an adorable interaction between him and the player, and petting him correctly rewards the player with items, so it’s definitely worth it.
Suja Village Offers Players a Chance to Relax and Enjoy the Company of Their Companions
Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Suja Village is also one of the few areas where players actually get to interact with their companions in a different way. Shortly after arriving there, players can enjoy a delicious-looking meal with their friends as they converse with the Allhearken about the history of the village, but before that, they can tackle the optional objective of speaking with their companions. During these interactions, they get to see a different side of Monster Hunter Wilds‘ party members than they had seen up to that point, as they finally get to let their guard down, relax, and be themselves for a brief moment.
